Daddy Henry...I mean what is there to say! His relationship with Bodhi is so special and I loved seeing it! Bodhi is the coolest/sweetest kid, I couldn't help be smile when he came on page. It was really nice to come across his POV chapters throughout the book, I mean it is his story too!
Jade is great I really enjoyed the banter between her and Henry. Seeing Jade become confident around Bodhi though was beautiful to witness and their relationship was so sweet!
Looking forward to Connor's story next, I thought it was actually going to be Tweetie's so it was a bit of a shock when it turned out to be Connor but I don't mind.

❛It should have died a long time ago, but it’s still a burning inferno deep in my heart. The need to be her protector, to be her person, is so ingrained in me I’m not sure it will ever disappear.❜

I love a good second chance romance, and this one did not disappoint. Actually it's one of my favorite reads from Piper Rayne. This book hurt me just a bit, I absolutely hated when they went their separate ways. I wanted to yell at Henry, and felt so much for Jade throughout this book. The love these two shared for each other would last lifetimes. They just needed to figure themselves out first, which was not an easy path, but wow, when they came back together it gripped my heart. Giving Bodhi his own point of view was the best thing ever, he's such a sweetheart, and the found family with Henry's teammates was the icing on the cake.

another book that i’m adding to my list! i haven’t read a lot of second-chance romances, so this is one of my first books! there was a team effort, with henry and jade ending up together. there might have been a little push and shove from henry’s friends and his son, bodhi with jade having support from her family.
henry and jade meet again after a few years when jade decides to come home to chicago. henry made his dreams come true by becoming a professional hockey player and adopting a little boy along the way. while jade has been traveling around the world, taking pictures for the next job she has. henry and jade dated for a few years prior, but they broke up a few years later.
with jade being back in chicago, there still seems to be some feelings that are hard to remove. herny and jade have known each other since they were kids. there is a history behind jade and henry that either most people know or don’t know about. jade never left henry’ heart and it’s known for henry and especially jade’s parents.
it’s kind of hard to ignore the chemistry that they had has disappeared. and it’s hard to miss when they see each other for the first time in a few years. but they also have chemistry in bed, tho. the spice scenes are short, and there aren’t that many in the story either.
the found family that henry found with some of his hockey team is so cute, especially with him having his son. everyone is helping out in some way that they can. the relationship that has formed between the players is unbreakable. along with more people joining their little family that they have made.
bodhi is definitely a cute character in the mr. broody. is one of my favorites. he played a big role in the story, and a lot of things definitely surrounded bodhi. it was so cute watching bodhi trying to find ways to get jade and henry to spend more time together.
mr. broody follows jade and henry, falling for each other again while learning about the people whom they developed into as well. letting themselves fall for each other again but also for one more person. but it’s also about jade and henry finding out where they are in their love story.

Mr. Broody is the second book in The Nest series by Piper Rayne. While it is best enjoyed in series order it can definitely be read as a standalone.
Jade is back in Chicago helping her mother recover from surgery. She usually avoids coming home out of fear and self preservation. Jade’s childhood best friend/ex boyfriend, aka the love of her life: Henry lives in this city with his son Bodhi. Did I mention Henry’s a superstar professional hockey player? He lives in the same building as several of his teammates. They are a close knit group that all look out for each other. Jade and Henry’s lives were once so connected and now she feels like an outsider. Jade unknowingly gets a temporary job at Bodhi’s school and now Henry can’t be avoided. The pair were never good at staying away from each other but now the stakes are higher with Bodhi’s heart also on the line. Will Jade stay in Chicago or is she just passing through?
I devoured this audio! This audiobook is a duet narration from JF Harding and Brooke Bloomingdale featuring Sean Master, Connor Crais, Troy Duran, Teddy Hamilton, and CJ Bloom. I highly recommend this audiobook!! The performances were perfect and so endearing. Henry and Jade’s story is a wonderful second chance romance that didn’t heavily rely on flashbacks which I loved! The supporting characters are lovable and have me praying we get their stories next! Read this if you like:
-second chance romance
-hockey romance
-single dad
-adorable matchmaking kids
-fun friend groups

This second chance at love was charming and touching, yet playful with plenty of heat.
Shut up, I'm not crying, you're crying. Everything about this book was beyond adorable. Henry and Jade's reunion was charged with remembered feelings and the attraction that never went away. That connection was palpable throughout and had me with my heart in my throat, wanting and hoping right alongside them.
Henry had his life together, but he and Bodhi were missing a crucial piece. And Jade seamlessly slot into that position, even when they all needed time to catch up to what we (the readers) already realized, that they were perfect for each other.
Bodhi was so sweet and loveable, and he was the glue that held them together while Henry and Jade reconnected. Henry was gentle and patient and so ready to have Jade in his life again. Jade had to learn to accept herself and how to be herself in Henry's world. This was a very emotional read and I might've had some shiny eyes while reading it.
The epilogue was definitely worth it and now I can't wait for the next book. I can highly recommend this book and this series if you like fun, steamy hockey romance. Each book stands well on its own.
Thank you to the authors and the publisher for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved Mr. Heartbreaker, the first book in The Nest series, and didn’t know how Piper Rayne (actual co-author friends!) could top it. Well, in walked “Daddy Henry” with his cute as a button kid, Bodhi, and his sweet charm, and I was done for.
Luckily for the story, so was Jade, his childhood sweetheart, who was leaving for Holland on the flight HE bought for her, the last time he saw her. But it’s clear from even their first encounter, years later, that neither has stopped loving the other. One of my favorite parts was the fact that while Jade was back in town, she took a job as a substitute teacher, (and you can probably guess who ends up in her class ;)) and as a sub myself, I ATE THIS UP!!
This book was SO unbelievably adorable!!! From their history together, so their familial connection (Jade’s step-dad was Henry’s “Big Brother” from the Big Brother/Big Sister organization), to the way their chemistry sizzled immediately. It checked all the boxes for a *chef’s kiss* perfect rom-com!!
Not to mention that EXPLOSIVE last sentence setting the next book up PERFECTLY (but also, I’m DYING to read it NOW!!!!)

God it was so good! Also I think all single parent books should have chapters from the kids pov!

Book number one in The Nest series, Mr. Heartbreaker, was my first Piper Rayne book. Man, what an introduction. I loved it so much I knew I couldn’t wait to read the rest. When I found out it was going to be about Henry and Bohdi, I was ecstatic. I was sold on their characters from the start. I just knew their story would be incredible. I was not wrong.
I listened to the audiobook. JF Harding and Brooke Bloomingdale are excellent narrators for these characters. The full cast for all the other characters brings the story to life. I loved Teddy Hamilton as Bohdi.
This was such a wholesome read. Henry and Jade were childhood sweethearts. Their relationship ended when Henry felt he would be holding Jade back from pursuing her dreams while pursuing his hockey career. He felt as though he would be holding her back. I loved all the flashbacks of them. It helped to show how strong their foundation was. You instantly feel the pull they have towards each other.
Henry adopting Bohdi as a single dad is swoon-worthy. I love this plotline: the big grumpy athlete who adopts kids to give them a better life. It always gets me. Bohdi stole the show. He is adorable. I loved his matchmaking schemes. The chapters from his POV were the sweetest. Piper did such a beautiful job bringing him into the story. He was just as much a part of this love story as Henry and Jade.
I can’t wait to read more from this series. The epilogue has me dying for the next one. I need it ASAP. I know there is going to be a great story behind it. I recommend this book with my whole heart.
Quotes:
I remember thinking it was the best place ever— in Henry’s arms.
Bohdi: Daddy puts his hand on Jade’s cheek and pulls her closer to him.
And they kiss.
Oh my gosh.
It worked!
Jade is going to be my mommy!
“You will always be my girl.”
