Review:
Omg that ending!! I need the next book in this series stat. Wow this audiobook was amazing, I was up until 4 am listening to this. I’m really loving this series they are interconnected standalone. I personally would start with the first one. So this is about Henry and his childhood sweetheart Jade. Henry has a son name Bodie, that makes this book come to life. He even has a couple of chapters. They find there away back to each other but it’s not that simple. This book has very happy moments but also a couple that make me tear up. I loved this audiobook so much, the FMC is a great character and I love there love! The narrators were just the best. I would definitely recommend this audiobook/ series.

Stars for Henry, Jade and Bodhi. I am such a sucker for a single dad romance and Mr. Broody did not disappoint. I absolutely love this series and I am so invested in this series. I gotta read book 3 like tomorrow!! I thought the childhood friends to lovers, second chance was done so so well. You could feel their heartbreak in this book, everything that they have been through to get to where they are now. I loved watching Jade grow as a character and really find herself not only for her, but seeing her finally realize she was enough for Henry and Bodhi.

Jade and Henry grew up together; as their relationship evolved, Jade was happy following Henry’s dreams, but what about her own? Henry sends her away to follow them, which eventually leads to the two no longer speaking. The story starts when she goes to a party at the bar beneath his apartment, and the universe (and Henry’s son and friends) keeps throwing them together. The two have a lot of past trust issues that they continue to encounter. Will they be able to move forward, especially if the stakes are higher now? I really liked that her stepdad is a beacon of advice.

“My girl,” I say in a soft voice. “You will always be my girl.”
I loved everything about this book. Jade, Daddy (aka Henry), and Bodhi’s story is going to be hard to beat. I was immediately drawn in and didn’t want their story to end — well, outside of wanting them to get their HEA. I could have read epilogue after epilogue of their lives together.
Bodhi was a standout character. His POV chapters made the story. How he fell in love with Jade instantly and worked behind the scenes to make sure she and Henry got together in the end.
The pining was epic. When you KNOW that the two MCs are perfect for one another if they could just get their heads on right. It’s even worse when they already had a perfect relationship and one of them pushed the other away. Those scenes broke me. Made me want to shout out “you idiot!”
First read through - I devoured it in a day.
Second *read through* (audiobook form) - Had me thinking that this story was made for audio! Tried real hard to not get mad at the family for interrupting my listen. The angst was angsting hard, and the narration team smashed their performance! How was it that even knowing how it would end, all the pining brought me to tears anyway?
This is a medium-burn and spicy, first love, second chance MF romance that ends in a HEA. It is the second book in the interconnected series of standalones: The Nest. While it is not necessary to have read Mr Heartbreaker first, I highly recommend it, as it is a great story in its own right.
A huge thank you to Valentine PR and Piper Rayne for the ARC and ALC of this book!

Henry and Jade were a perfect match in high school and now that time has passed and they’re both back in their hometown can they be a perfect match again? Henry is a right winger in the NHL and Jade is a photographer who’s home to help out her family. They’re both in very different places from where they were when they were together before but neither has ever truly moved on.
Their journey back together was delightful and Bodhi was a cutie! I’ll definitely be revisiting this series to check in on all these side characters as they each get their own stories! I love Piper’s writing style and the lack of a third act breakup delighted me. What a great way to end the year enjoying this audiobook!

The Nest series by Piper Rayne is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Not only is their storytelling superb, but their audiobook choices are also next level.
Henry and Jade are serious goals in their relationship. I loved how they were able to provide each other with the company and comfort they each needed. I’m not usually a big fan of second-chance romance, but this one was different - the choice was made, so they each had a chance to find themselves. It’s partner goals to have someone care so deeply to let the other go in order to give them the opportunity for growth. I absolutely loved the inclusion of Bodhi’s point of view in the story! He plays such a big role as Henry’s son and responsibility that his chapters are by far some of my favorites (except for the spicy ones

Be still my heart. This second chance, childhood friends-to-lovers hockey romance was way too sweet! Jade returns to town, which happens to be the location of the Chicago Falcons and The Nest, home of Henry (and his little boy, Bodhi). The way these two main characters never stopped loving each other and for the way they were able to get their second chance and reconnect not only made my heart be fast, but also melted it! There was insane rekindled chemistry and just the right amount of spice. The majority of the book is told in first person, dual PoV, but there are a few special chapters told from Bodhi’s PoV. I thoroughly enjoyed tandem reading: flashbacks were distinguishable with italics and then full cast of narrators were phenomenal (they each portrayed their characters with emotion and quips at the appropriate times!). It was fun to read, fun to listen to, and overall such an enjoyable full reading experience. Thanks to the authors and Valentines PR for the eARc and ALC.

Absolutely love this series!
With this book we get Henry and Jade's story! Of course we can't forget Bohdi. I love that we get his POV with this book being as Henry is his dad and he is a part of his life and all the decisions that he makes. Jade and Henry are ex's and neither one of them got over the other, when Jade is back in town to help her parents, she runs into Henry, and they have a lot to catch up on. There is an instant connection with Jade and Bohdi when she becomes his teacher.
I loved everything about their story!
If you are a fan of Hockey romance, second chances, single dad romances, then go grab this book!
100% recommend this series and I can't wait for the next book!
