Stop right here and look no further whether it’s the read to finish your 2024 or the book to start your 2025 you have found it! I am always amazed at how these ladies just know how to hook us and reel us in! Henry is just to die for and is the best book boyfriend to date. Jade is his match and the journey these two go on to find their HEA is funny and exciting. The extra added bonus is Bodhi who is Henry adopted son and the relationship between Henry and his son will melt your heart. We love The Nest and Henry teammates really round out this story. This is hands down a must read!
Jade and Henry’s complicated journey made me believe in second chances and that timing is everything. I’m a sucker for a single dad and Henry had me swooning. I loved watching the guys bond and their interactions with Bodhi and Ruby. This series has a way of drawing you in and making it so you never want to leave.
The incredible voices from this dynamic cast of narrators: JF Harding, Brooke Bloomingdale, Sean Masters, Connor Crais, Troy Duran, Teddy Hamilton, and CJ Bloom took this hockey romance soaring to another level. Each character had their own individual voice and the multiple cast narration made the story feel more like a movie playing out in my head. I turned into an absolute sap during Bodhi’s chapters. That sweet and devious little devil had my whole heart.

I don’t know what it is about second chance romances, but they are almost guaranteed to make me weepy. 😭 Piper Rayne knocked it out of the park.

Henry, Jade and yes, even little Bodhi were so good!
Henry and Jade were childhood sweethearts. When Henry tells her she needs to go and explore and find herself what he thinks will be a couple years turns in to eight. Jade does come back and Henry is playing in the NHL, a single dad to Bodhi while Jade seems lost. She ends up taking a temporary role as a teacher which brings Henry and Jade to interact more as Bodhi is the class.
I loved this second chance. The meddling of the friends and even Bodhi was so entertaining. The connection and chemistry between Henry and Jade was strong. He knew he had to let her go but Jade needed to figure herself out and what she wanted. When she realizes this it's when they truly thrive.
I was loving the fact that Conor, of all people was giving and open to give advice! This team that Piper Rayne has created is so much fun and I can't wait to read more!

I was so happy to see Henry find his HEA. He’s such an old soul – serious about his family, his friends, and his sport. He was such a delightful part of Mr. Heartbreaker as he provided guidance and a level-head to the others. They call him Daddy for a reason (and not an “ewww” one) as he’s the father figure to more in the group than just Bodhi. But now that he’s got a second chance with the only woman he’s ever loved, their love & attraction still as strong as ever, he’s struggling to take it slow :)
While his connection to Jade is lovely, it’s his obvious love and care for Bodhi that is swoony. Bodhi is just as much an old soul as Henry but with the enthusiasm of a child. I loved getting his side in a few chapters and it is relatable how badly he wants a woman’s influence in his life. Enter Jade as his substitute teacher – obviously someone important to his dad in the past – what could be better?
I feel for Jade. I totally understand why she’s stayed away for so long and why she’s hesitant to see Henry again, knowing how strong her feelings for him are still. It had to be hard balancing that pull with trying to figure out where she’s going with her life. Now she’s finding herself at a crossroads again, unsure of who she wants to be, and realizing that their feelings for each other are still just as strong as ever … Can they make it work?
Looking from the outside I think there could have been a better way to handle it all those years ago, but I get where they are coming from and why they would think the way they did. While I don’t feel like Jade’s issues were completely resolved, and I really needed that clarity moment about whether staying is right, I know we’ll see more of them over the next couple of books to get some of those answers.
Seeing them together tho is *chefs kiss*
I love the guys in The Nest – the way they each have their strengths that they bring to the group and how they are there to support one another, never failing to show up, from listening & providing advice to giving each other heck to being there for Bodhi. It’s sweet and wholesome and I love seeing them find someone to share their lives with, bringing them into the fold. I’m so looking forward to what’s coming next for them!
**I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

I really enjoyed this book. It's the second chance romance of Henry and Jade. They grew up together as best friends from age 7 on, dated through high school and college then broke up when he hit the big leagues. After a few years apart, Jade returns home to Chicago to help her family for a few months... a town that Henry also returned to as the 1st line in their NHL team. One of Jades first nights back, she is forced into chaperoning a family friends 21st birthday at the local bar, that's just below Henry's condo. Of course they run into each other to both their surprise. Then, when Henry takes his adopted 6 year old son to school, they're all shocked to discover her new temporary gig is as Bodhi's 1st grade substitute since his teacher gave birth.
Bodhi's all about getting his dad happy and conspires with his friend Micha and his dad's teammates to bring Jade and Henry back together. Is he successful? Read and find out!
