These poems are fascinating. Ovid takes an almost encyclopedic knowledge of myth and both Greek and a Latin literature and weaves these deeply personal poems: https://youtu.be/RWx-i0kfMuI

Filled with familiar stories and, of course, the transformation of characters(often because of Hera being angry at Zeus). My favourite transformation is probably that of Hermaphroditus. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is my fault. The stories are so interwoven and I am not an expert on all classical figures so I often got lost, so the seamless transitions were not so seamless to me.

“what could she complain of, except that he’d loved her?” 384 pages to read the most heart wrenchiny beautiful quote, which made me buy this particular book/translation
