This felt like a self-help fantasy wannabe. If you like self help books, or Jesus stories and parables, this is for you. Not for me.

This book felt like an extended parable, with just enough details to make for a good read, but all the teachings one would expect.

The book almost forces introspection, which is nice, especially given the themes of personal journeys and never giving up on the long path to your destiny. It leans pretty heavy on Christianity sometimes, which is annoying. But if you flip it to a generic spirituality, it makes it more tolerable.

I enjoyed it!

A fscinating story. One of those that you might want to read more than once

This is a great read for young people or anyone who is trying to achieve a dream. It wasn’t the most gripping plot, but this book is more about the message, kind of like a bedtime store or fairytale. I overall liked the theme which reminded me somewhat of “the secret.” Overall I enjoyed and I think I would read it again when I need inspiration to keep working towards my dreams.

the epitome of “it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.” maybe if i read this book earlier in life (when my brain had more plasticity), i would’ve enjoyed it more and it would’ve taught me something, but at my big age of 21 i feel that i can say “no duh.” to this book 😭 granted it was a pretty story, the language being very whimsical, but i think it being “pretty” has a double meaning.

it dresses up following your dreams, but has no awareness of the fact that sometimes people literally can’t. i’m fortunate enough to say that i can pursue a dream that may lack stability, but i wouldn’t deem that to be brave and heroic, as this book lowkey does. i get that it’s supposed to be inspiring, but to talk down on people who don’t chase their dreams to achieve safety doesn’t sit right with me.
