This was the Howard’s book with the slower romance - and it says a lot about her other books that the courtship here lasts less than a week. Insta-love is definitely her favourite trope. Very good thriller as well. Another great couple.

Probably my least favourite LH book so far. Kick ass heroine, but her skills were only showcased in the beginning. What good is her skill if she never got to use it to save herself?

And at a point in the story when the two main characters get more involved,
SpoilerI can't believe Cahill could still accuse her after all they' ve been through. I would understand that if it happened at the beginning or when they're just starting to get to know each other, but him still thinking she could murder after all that...
Also I wanted grovelling. Instead, I got a loving sex scene. I'm all for that, but there was no grovelling involved whatsoever. :( I am not so forgiving to male characters that hurt the heroine. I demand a full apology, down-on-your-knees, roses, the works.

The scene at the end with the killer kind of bothered me. I guess I don't like reading about stuff like that. It wasn't rape, but it was emotionally draining, y'know? I felt helpless too, and that's never a good feeling.

Overall, it was just okay for me.
