Giving an extra 1/2 star because I was over 60% through before it became a hate-read. Whoever decided to market this as spicy Hunger Games was wrong. This book feels like all the favorite romance and dystopian fantasy tropes were thrown into ChatGPT and published. Like a first draft of every Dystopian Romance before the editing and fleshing out the world-building and character-building. The romance felt forced, the spicy scenes were meh, and the FMC was so annoying (and not in a good way). I still don't understand the world and lore. There were too many different names for the same type of person that I almost immediately lost track. I saw that book 2 is coming soon...unless the FOMO hits really bad...I will probably skip it. I'm just curious to know the "well-known" author behind the pen name. A few details in the writing make me think it's a man.
