A pun-laden, trope-turning, whimsical rousing good romp of a fantasy spoof. Similar in style to a gentler, PG version of Sir Apropos of Nothing. Various fantastical misfits, a bearded princess fed up with her Sleeping Beauty story so far, a recently freed dryad intent on going to law school, an awkward, unelfly elf, and a muscle bound centaur with a shameful magical secret all sign up to be pirates under the captainage of Filthy Lucre. They learn a whole bunch about heroism, self determination and friendship along the way. Also treasure.

The first book in this series was fine, kind of fun, didn't work perfectly. But this was one was just tired and sour for me. Luke Daniels, one of my favorite audiobook narrators, couldn't even save it. More thoughts later.

Later: No more thoughts. I declare REVIEW AMNESTY.
