Enjoyed reading/learning how Joe Quinn came to meet Eve Duncan and how/why they relationship is the way it is. In some of the previous novels we've only gotten a glimpse into Joe and most of it was from Eve's perspective. It's interesting to have Joe's character fleshed out a lot more and to understand why he is the way he is and to understand the decision he makes. Once again Ms. Johansen crafts a tale that not only takes you on a journey but allows you to feel the emotions of the characters in each scene. Not to give anything away about the book but while knowing there are 3 books to resolve the crime surrounding Bonnie's death, I suspected that the killer wasn't who we thought it was. I can't wait to learn who the killer is and to close this chapter in Eve Duncan's life.

Ugh.

It's amazing that so little can happen in so many pages!

We learn nothing, other than the events surrounding Joe and Eve right after Bonnie was taken. Oh, and that John Gallo is a sex MACHINE!

I really hope that all this ends with Bonnie, which comes out next month, so I can be done with it.

Soooo great! Same caliber as "Eve" and I can't wait to FINALLY get to the bottom of the Binnie mystery. On to the next one!

Rereading this book was like a dream, and I'm so close to rereading who Bonnie's killer is, I never forgot that! But I want to reread it again!

*First read December 19th-20th, 2011*
Yeah! Loved this book! So amazing! Thought it felt like 2 books, the past with Eve and Quinn after Bonnie was taken, and Catherine and Gallo in the present, trying to find who killed Bonnie. Yep. Really great!

so, compared with 'eve', this book wasn't anywhere near as good. however, knowing that it sets up the next book, 'bonnie' makes it well worth the read if you have been following the eve duncan saga.

This book focuses on when Bonnie was kidnapped and Quinn came into the picture. This was another engaging, well-written read. I enjoyed the background of Eve and Quinn's relationship and the story kept you on your toes and kept you guessing... Who killed Bonnie?
