What a romp!!!! Stephanie Plum meets Aisling Grey! Fast, funny, too short.
So I gave this a good try. A really good try. I read a bit of it and couldn't get into it so I gave it time and then tried again. But despite my best attempts, I still can't find anything to pique my interest. I wanted to like this book because it sounded funny. It sounded like the hilarious kind of adventure that would have me rolling on the floor giggling. Only I wasn't rolling on the floor. I wasn't giggling. Wasn't even puffing a half-laugh.
I couldn't tell you what it is about this book, but for me, it fell flat. I didn't like Grandma, I didn't like the dog and I didn't like the heroine any better than the other two. The premise sounds fantastic, but the writing style or maybe the narrator's voice just doesn't do it for me. Good luck to anyone else who wants to try it.

Fun read!
Picked this up on Amazon, and am glad I did. Was a quick and fun read. Can't wait to explore the rest of the series.

This one is like a girl with super natural power become witch and come to know about her reality later, and fall in love with her saviour, Later save his and her family from unknown danger that's crawling upon them from the hell. The struggle is shown properly in the novel...
Not Bad at All
Throughout this story I kept thinking that this book read like a first in series (or first ever), and once I finished I saw that it was actually both. So I can only hope that the remainder of the series is a little better written. This one, while very entertaining, was a bit too choppy. I had a little trouble keeping track of what was going on. The plot though was excellent, and I liked how everything was well described. So I look forward to seeing what else is in store for Lizzie.

I have no idea what took me so long to get to this series! So very glad I did though. Paranormal is my main genre and I love finding a character like Lizzie. She is prone to prim and proper, making lists even for her 30th birthday party.
Then her grandmother roars in on her Harley and changes Lizzie's life for the very different.
Apparently Lizzie is a demon slayer and she didn't even know it....but the Red Skull witch coven definitely do....and so does a demon who wants Lizzie's powers.
But Lizzie has her now talking dog and a hottie shape-shifting griffin to help and take care of her.
Full of action and very funny with a tweak of romance thrown in, I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

CW: gore; animal parts used for spells,
I read this book years ago and apparently own most of the series so decided to reread it so I can get this series off my TBR. My tastes have clearly changed since 2014 though because I couldn’t get through this. I found both Lizzie and her dog Pirate to be annoying characters who cause more problems instead of listening to the people trying to help them.
My other issue with what I read was that there was the use of animals in their spells, and I am talking about roadkill guts being whipped on faces for spells, etc. Then there is a whole part where they are having a celebration and a coven member is naming dishes that are squirrel, raccoon, etc. based and it just felt like the author was like I need dishes that sound backwood or hillbilly like, and it felt very wrong.
Between the annoying characters and the constant graphic animal parts used I am done.
Graphic: Animal death, Gore
Sometimes you just need a laugh - Angie Fox understands this. So many paranormal romances have somber tones and, despite the happy endings, they can leave the reader feeling as if they just stepped off an emotional rollercoaster.
The Accidental Demon Slayer is the antithesis of such novels. It's in the same vein and MaryJanice Davidson and Dakota Cassidy novels; nothing but hijinxs all around.
All the requisite ingredients for a good time are there: a fun heroine, a sexy hero, kooky sidekicks and even a talking dog. What makes this one stand out from similar books is the brand of humor that Fox employs. It's often snarky and, at times, raunchy...

I decided to read the Accidental Demon Slayer as part of this week’s bingo game for the Demons stamp. Lizzie's grandmother show's up out of the blue, riding a pink Harley and wearing a Kiss My Asphalt T-shirt. That should be enough to tip Lizzie off that she's not your typical let's bake cookies grandmother. Next thing Lizzie knows she's blasting a demon out of her toilet and learning that she's going through a change. Lizzie’s grandmother decides it would be best if she takes her to the safety of her coven, who also happen to be seniors liker her. Lizzie’s grandmother uses smuckers jars for her spells, and Lizzie jokes about using a so-be bottle.
Lizzie packs up her dog Pirate into a ferret carrier which he's none too happy about it and voices his opinion to Lizzie. Since Lizzie is going through the change to become a slayer she can hear what Pirate is saying, she packs a change of clothes and heads off with her grandmother in attempt to get away from more demons that will be coming after her. The head for Lizzie's grandmothers coven but they are attacked on the way by imps who work for the demons. They are saved by Dimitri a griffin shapeshifter who is supposed to teach Lizzie the way of being a slayer. Upon arriving at her grandmother’s coven she learns more about what she’s up against, but her grandmother is taken by the demon that’s after Lizzie and it's up to her to save her.
I loved this story, it's a fast paced adventure that draws you in right from the start and doesn't let go till the last page of the book. I started it yesterday morning and read as much as I could through the day even staying up late. The characters are great, Lizzie is a great character you instantly like her it's hard not to, because she has so much craziness going on. I found that The Accidental Demon Slayer flows smoothly, and with the added humor it’s a great light read. I felt that the characters are developed enough that you have a good sense who each one is, and I had no issues visualizing them. I love different characters in the story they add to the story giving it a fun spin. Plus who doesn't love a sexy shapeshifting griffin like Dimitri who is training Lizzie in the ways of demon slaying. This book is a great first book in the series; I really enjoyed reading it and can't wait to find some time to read the rest of the series.
