Did not enjoy the style of writing, reading it felt like a chore. Story was kind of disjointed and hard to keep track of.
On her 30th birthday, Lizzie is paid a visit by the grandmother she never really knew existed. She was pleased to have contact with her biological family, but she had no idea it would include witches and demon slayers. Thus, she is recuited to help her grandmother's coven defeat Vald (not Vlad) a fifth-level demon who is apparently out for her head.
Meanwhile she meets a sexy, sexy griffin named Demitri. He runs around shirtless a few times, and once, he's even naked. Don't worry, this is the kind of book where I'm really not ruining anything. Oh, and they have nasty, raunchy sex. But you probably could have figured that out already.
It's an easy read, and kind of entertaining, but the only award I would give it is "Most Shameless Use of Sexual Euphemisms."

It's weird! It's odd! It's a bit far-fetched but that's what you get when you pick up a paranormal book. The dog is hilarious. But as for the story, the writing is great, but I think there may have been a bit too much going on in the plot. Lies. Deception. Who can you really trust? Maybe it's just me. I dunno.
Try it. Maybe you'll like it.

I received this book from Susan of Audiobook Jukebox for a honest review.
The Accidental Demon Slayer is the first book in the Demon Slayer series. The series has been out for a few years in written format, but recently the series has become available on audio. Overall I have mostly good things to say about this book. I found the story funny and entertaining. But like most Paranormal fiction romance novels, this book falls into the predictable category. Also the story went on a little long for my taste.
On Lizzie 30th birthday she find out that she is a witch. Once in a generation, a demon slayer born. This book reminded me a lot of the Buffy the Vampire Tv series. There are a host of characters very similar to the Scooby gang. My favorite character was Pirate Lizzie's dog. He was fun. Lizzie and her gang go on many crazy adventure. They have to make hard choices and face evil. Also there are variety of super natural creatures in this book.
Prior to finding out about the magical world Lizzie had lived a very up tight life. As the story progress Lizzie learn how get in touch with her inner bad girl. If you like series such as The Hollows by Kim Harrison or the Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson I think that you might enjoy this book. I do plan to read the next book in this series.

I started this and never finished it. Can't remember why... fun book. Fun characters. Definitely want to read more in the series
Lizzie is a preschool teacher working her way through a safe, boring life when her long, lost Grandma comes roaring into her life on the back of a pink Harley. Dramedy follows as Lizzie, Pirate the dog and Grandma Gertie meet demons, werewolves and Dimitri the sexy Greek Griffin.
This book is the first in a series titled, "Biker Witches". Seriously, how could anyone ever walk away from that kind of opportunity? This book was like spending the afternoon in a happy bubble of fun. I loved her sense of humor! Grandma Gertie and Pirate the dog are in the running for supporting characters of the year in my opinion. I now want a Grandma who rides a Harley and a motormouth puppy who can't pee under pressure.
The story was strong, the pacing good, filled with unique spins on the standard paranormal ideas. Oh and the humor is off the charts. Overall light on romance, but what was there was good. I enjoyed getting to focus on Lizzie and how she developed. I think making the story about Lizzie instead of Lizzie and Dimitri as a couple was a strength to the overall story. So thanks to this great introduction to the world of Angie Fox, I will definitely be looking into the rest of the Biker Witches saga and I am also 100% convinced that there are Mexican food craving spells loose in my apartment.

I went into this book not having much expectations. I started it after having a terrible book hangover of the last series I read, so to say I was hoping it was terrible so I could skip it would be the truth. But it grew on me... I imagined Grandma Gertie as Kathy Bates, trust me... if you read it and you think back to Kathy Bates when she was on The Office, you'd get where I was going with this. Dimitri, in my mind was Tom Ellis. Yes, I know Dimitri was Greek, but Tom seemed to be a better fit for me. lol. It was easy to read and I found myself wanting to read continuously for hours. Isn't that what we look for in books?! Now excuse me while I buy the next book in the series and start that one right away!
Very funny and cute book, liked it so much, that I already bought the next in the series.
Didn't finish. The story too full of trying to be wacky, and not interesting enough.
I started this book and with in the first few pages thought I am going to love this. It’s fast moving, it’s fun, and there’s a feisty grandma, I mean really, who doesn’t like a feisty grandma? We got a lot of Lizzie’s personality right in those first few moments.
Then I got to a scene, still in the beginning (no spoilers, don’t worry, I hate spoilers), where Lizzie acts really out of what I have learned to be her character so far.
That bothered me.
That one scene continued to stay with me for the first quarter of the book. Just that one moment. That really was the only time she stepped out of what I felt the author was trying to portray as Lizzy. It did keep me on guard as I waited for more things like that.
Maybe it was intentional? Maybe when she started coming into her own at the moment, she gave us a little taste of what she was truly supposed to be like as a demon slayer? I don’t know.
Once I let my guard down, knowing there wasn’t going to be another big out of character moment that would leave me wondering if I was really going to like this book, I pretty much loved it. I’m still a bit iffy on the laboratory scene. I’m not sure that’s how I would picture this particular scenario, in fact I’m sure I wouldn’t, but it all gelled together. (Read it yourself and then tell me what you thought of that particular scene.) I think I actually would have liked a little bit more menacing evil in that one scene. Just up the fear a tad.
Seeing as this is the first in the series, I have high hopes for the next books, and I am definitely going find them all to read them.
I have to add, I want a griffin. I really think every girl needs their own personal Dimitri to protect, adore, and love them. I loved Dimitri and I loved the Red Skull ladies, and I really liked Lizzie, minus that one moment in the bathroom in the beginning of the book.
I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series just for Dimitri and grandma.
I was hmmmming and hawing back and forth between 3 and 4 stars due to the issues that bothered me above, then I weighed it against Dimitri and grandma who I enjoyed so much, and that pushed it back up to 4.
