i think i'm pretty satisfied with most of this?
it's been quite fun seeing damen and laurent's development and the types of things they get into. the political intrigue and scheming was heavier in this one, which, again, was a pleasant surprise. the sweet moments were /really/ sweet in this one - think with that what you will. i also like that there's quite a few quotes i'd want to go back and highlight.
the ending did feel rushed or incomplete, it just came nearly out of nowhere. i do realise that there are short stories to go alongside the story, but there could've been more of an ending in the actual complete story itself, too.

I’m so glad I stuck it out for this series. The end is so worth it❤️❤️
So much tension and buildup and machinations led up to this moment where Laurent and Damien could finally admit their love for each other and rule as equals.
At some point I may have to re-read it again as I sped read a lot trying to make it my last book for August…sadly I did not succeed with only two more chapters left😅
