The final book in this trilogy was just as wild as the first two. I had a great time reading this book.
My only complaints: the ending felt a little too rushed and convenient.

She is a queen of clever twisting plot lines. Aside from two twists she was not subtle about, I constantly appreciate her ability to surprise me with the schemes of the various characters. Appreciate that the sadistic brutality of the first book is long gone. The relationship between the two leads is very believable at this point. She never truly looks at the morality of slavery in this world with the precision the topic needs. Banning slavery does not resolve all the issues that needed to be explored by the leads because of their hand in the overtly sadistic as well as the problematically “benevolent” versions of it. Also, the use of children just to point out a characters villainy without fully addressing how culpable everyone was in it was also dissatisfying. Like what happens to the slaves now that they are free? They have been groomed for a lifetime of servitude - how do they earn a living and find a place in society? And they don’t want revenge??

Genuinamente fue una buena conclusión para la saga, como que todas las cosas que pasaron fueron muy creíbles, nada se sintió forzado. La disfruté mucho. Pero no me puedes dejar todo así listo para un epilogo de 20 páginas de ellos siendo felices o algo y NO HACERLO, estoy feliz y triste al mismo tiempo.

What a wild ride, I went into this thinking it was going to be maybe very explicit and violent and ended up with ALL THE FEELS.
The characters are just so captivating and I hate and love them at the same time.
More than anything, the storyline was so intricate and the twists and cliffhangers unbelievable. Laurent's plans, the unexpected obstacles and the MCs backstory, all together with the side stories of the other characters, made it so I became obsessed.
