Peter Pan and Wendy

J.M. Barrie

3.85 AVERAGE

As always, I enjoyed the story of Peter Pan. I also enjoyed Lily Collins narrating it, her voice is soft and prefect for Wendy but worked for everybody somehow. My issue is this- who in the world let her say "mischievious" and TWICE?? The pronunciation is mischievous, ya know, as it's spelled. This is not open to interpretation. It sounds trivial but it really dampened her performance for me.

actually kinda enjoyable to read but the racism is horrible my god

I recalled reading this a while back, and now I've listened to it's audiobook (the reader is the same as the one who reads Harry Potter books! what do you know, he's good here too!) and I humbly enjoyed it. I remember reading the translated version, and thought that the language so good and I finished it so quick, also the illustrations in the book was the one that kept me entertained aside from the plot itself.

Discovering the fact that Peterpan and the Lost Boys was a lot "darker" and ruthless in Neverland was surprising. I didn't understand why Wendy and her Brothers wasn't even half as scared when living with them. They wear animal skin that they made themselves after killing said animals everyday, for gods sake! And Hook, wow, he's as funny as he was in the book, somehow. I didn't know their hatred towards adults was so bad to the point where they'd kill them all if they see any, but judging with the fact that Hook is ALSO an adult, and his crew too, but they haven't killed them yet? I wonder why.
