2.5 stars rounded up. I didn’t think you could have info dumps in romance books yet here we are. I thought this was better than Dating Dr. Dil (no Charlie thank God) but it still read very cheesy/cringe to me for some reason. The chemistry pacing was WILD lol. And it felt out of place for such a wholesome storyline? Enjoyed the Indian wedding and culture representation! But unfortunately I just think this author isn’t for me.

3.5 - spicy wedding who done it (not murder, tried to sabotage the wedding). I just love Desi love stories.

Amazing!! I LOVE Bobbi’s character and the break we get from Small Indefinsible White Lady ™️ romance. Sharma’s writing is funny, witty, steamy and wholistic.

As a 26 year old man I was kicking my feet and giggling like a little boy in while on the treadmill at the gym. That almost ended badly for me. But what didn’t end badly WAS THIS BOOK!! Finished in <10 hours.

I’ve been saying that i want more modern indian romcoms and Nisha Sharma scratched that itch with Dating Dr. Dil, then scratched it again with Tastes Like Shakkar.

I didn’t know this was supposed to be a trilogy of sorts but after reading Tastes Like Shakkar, I’m so ready for August for book 3 and more kicking my feet.

The book has everything I want: banter, romance, spice, relatable indian culture (an all encompassing phrase)..oh and ropes. this one actually had a lot of ropes.

a delightful enemies to lovers tale complete with a thrilling subplot of sabotage and high stakes wedding drama. both leads feel fleshed out and the book is very funny while maintaining a wider world of characters and places established in Dating Dr. Dil.
