Not my cup of tea and no clue how this ended up on my read list, not bad solid book just not for me
adventurous emotional medium-paced

Funny and odd in a good way. I am a sucker for old-fashioned adventures told from the point of view of young girls doing things they weren't supposed to. It's written in a very proper and emotionally detached style, which is mostly funny, but the final scenes in the main adventure could still give a person nightmares.

I loved this book. I have seen both movie versions and thought it would be boring to read it, but kept seeing great reviews, so thought I'd give it a try. Even after seeing the movies, knowing the characters and what was going to happen, the book was so fresh and funny and the narrative was so eloquent. This book's a keeper!

I fear that nothing else I read in 2013 will measure up to the awesomeness of "True Grit."
