Very fun, witty and good world-building. There were a few tropes that I was able to pick up on throughout, which meant I suspected some of the major plot twists, but that could just be my neurodivergent brain's pattern recognition. Adam is a very cool MC, and I'm happy to see a gay MC where that isn't the whole plot of the story. Excited to read the rest of the trilogy to see where it goes.

I liked reading it and finishing it, but it wasn't really memorable. I do really appreciate these books though, with the world building and interesting magic system, and the twists at the end were very well done!

Incredibly good character development. I loved that none of the characters were 100% good or evil (as fantasy often resorts to) but realistic amalgamations of their choices. I was hooked from the beginning and finished it in a matter of days.
