LGBT-friendly genre fiction -- I love living in this time and place!
Our hero is no middle-class white kid; he's a traior-park dwelling gay guy from rural Oklahoma who's flunked out of high school, been institutionalized, and who has a knack for auto repair that keeps his elderly Cutlass barely chugging along. The first in what promises to be an entertaining, light-weight series.

I listened to the audiobook to get ready for Trailer Park Trickster! I had forgotten a good chunk of the plot so I'm really happy I went for the refresher. I'm eager to find out what's next for the characters! Unimportant: as someone who is familiar with Lookout Mountain in Georgia, I didn't realize there was a Lookout Mountain in Colorado and was real confused at first... like how did they suddenly get halfway across the country?! XD
Urban fantasy set in rural Oklahoma and Denver. Adam goes to save his sister in law Annie from an odd possession even though his brother has treated Adam's magical powers with disdain for his whole life. Adam has been living with his Aunt Sue in a trailer in Oklahoma, chasing objects made by a dark warlock who may be his long lost father. Arriving in Denver, he faces his brother's perfect suburban home and his estranged mother's distance. Adam tries to help, but the skepticism from his mom and brother get in the way of his helping Annie. Eventually Adam figures out a way, with the help of some elves (ugh, he can't stand elves! Like his ex, Parak....). And there's a bit of a love triangle involving a new guy Adam meets.
It's a fun adventure, good character development, and Adam is a perfect protagonist. Can't wait to read the next one! Audio reader was very good.

Basically a Contemporary with a fantasy veil.
With "White Trash" in the title I was expecting some humor, light side, and fun. This was none of those things.
More romance and petty family drama with a little supernatural stuff going on. Overall tone was depressing, not even tense. The romance was more of a focus theme and it wasn't even centered on 2 people. Adam is a bit boy crazy and has googly eyes for serval boys.

Interesting, not too deep, and a gay male lead.
While there isn’t anything profound or groundbreaking here, it is exactly what it claims to be. I enjoy books like this for their purpose of great entertainment after a long work day, or a stolen chapter here or there on a bus ride.
I enjoyed the story and didn’t find anything too difficult to follow after putting it down and picking it back up. It’s a book to bring to the beach, or leave on your coffee table, or even just read in one sitting when needing some comforting escapism.

Quick and fun read! Has some nice surprising twists, and there’s nothing quite like the intersection of gay redneck witches and elven royalty!
