I liked this more than I expected! The characters are likeable, and I really enjoyed starting another fun, but not overly fluffy or mostly romance (though I enjoy those too), urban fantasy series.

Nothing makes a book worse than it not getting an ending, so that it can set up a sequel. This story does not feel like its finished. It does not stand on its own.

I read this in basically 24hrs LOL
It was a super easy read and I enjoyed all of it. It was pretty character focused with the plot being mixed in until the final chapters and it worked great. For someone who isn’t a huge fan of urban fantasy this pulled it off quite well.
I might be biased because of the representation in this book but oh well :) The one thing I hope for is please no love triangle... this book established it *might* happen but made it seem like it was in the past (good) and please love triangles need to stop
Excited to read the next one when it comes out, hoping to get more Adam and Vic development as they seem to be the two POVs for that one!

I really loved this one. I loved how personal the stakes stayed, even when things were huge and out of control. I absolutely love the idea that because of his limited power, he is more perceptive to this spirit, he might be the only one able to change things just because he's not a power maniac. I loved the connection between Adam and Vic. I loved the elves! I also really enjoyed the tarot references.

Adam Binder sees things other people can’t, the veil beyond human and into the other world. It’s always been that way and as a result his brother committed him to an institution since he was clearly losing his mind. Now free and living with his Aunt, who is also touched, Adam is hunting the Warlock who is harming creatures, the one he believes may be his father. When Adam receives a call from his brother asking for help, despite everything he can’t refuse and he soon finds himself drawn in to having to deal with the Elves and the Guardians, where some nasty surprises wait for him.

I picked at this book a bit, some things I felt were a little forced and by now you should know I’m not good with romance of any kind in novels, but it was an entertaining read. I probably won’t look out the rest of the series, though if I was stuck somewhere with nothing to read, it would do.
