Because I’m pretty new to the fantasy genre, it took me about halfway through the book to actually be interested in this story. It wasn’t until the magical elements were brought in that it sparked my interest. Some parts were a little cliche to me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the romance subplot, but I know that SJM wrote this as a teenager, so I get why they were included. However, I did like the action parts, and I felt like the last quarter of the book redeemed it for me. I’ve heard so many great things about this series, and I look forward to reading the rest of the books. I can’t wait to see how the world building and characters develop!
P.S. sorry but I can’t stand the name Fleetfoot for the dog 😂

First time I gave it 3 stars and now I give it 4 ⭐️

Again… why was not writing about this book before.

But wow. A second time around with the audio is a must. This was my first experience with fantasy and it did take me longer to get into the first time around but this time I am so engulfed with everything!

Won’t lie I was definitely a team choal girlie the first time around and I don’t want to say that finishing the series has altered my view but this time I am sooooo team Dorian. Although I still love the relationship she created with both on completely different levels. I see how the importance they both had on her .

I remember the first time around when queen Elena came about I was like what is this freaky Friday is going on lmao 🤣 but now I’m like okay it was pretty seamless and I understand ( again bias to knowing the end most likely )

Nehemia that’s my girl and I love that she gave celeana her shafted so that it had more meaning behind the blow.

Reading AB first definitely was the move just because when she’s playing the piano and when she says the famous saying (iykyk) it HAS MEANING DEPTH! And I didn’t realize how much reference there was Sam & her past life that you won’t know until Assassins blade and by then I feel like those moments are passed without a look back which kinda sucks because you experience how much all those event have already started to mode her .

It’s kinda funny that I didn’t pick up on the king, perrington or kaltain the way I do know. However, now back in the beginning the king is acting like a clueless murdering king but buddy IS NOT clueless . Mhmm.

But again I will as I am bias going back with certain characters and have already have my thoughts and opinions on them now that I finished but I love just seeing and going back to a head space of mhmm that’s interesting lol

Lastly,
“RATTLE THE STARS”

Okay… ps. She didn’t need to dismiss my boy Dorian the way she did… 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I get it… but I don’t… but then I do… ugh lmao 🤣

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would! Kind of daunting the amount of books this series contains, but I’m excited for the next
