Writing style wasn’t anything toooo impressive, but love a good fantasy, and the concepts behind this plot and romance are so creative! It was a refreshing break from a lot of the fantasy echo-chamber of SJM influenced writing that I’m very bored of. It’s also so beautiful and purposeful that this regal, non-human character is seen as “flawed” for her feelings. Can definitely symbolically resonate with that! It’s exciting to see the journey Crier goes on.
The main character is stereotypical, but the romance in the story is enticing enough that I don’t mind.
