Fantastic book, an amazing journey, all stages are highly readable, I can imagine the only thing that would have made it better is having not seen the handmaiden before it! Despite this, the twists were still very well delivered!

Nyt kävi niin, että leffa olikin parempi kuin kirja. Siis tällä kirjalla ei ollut mitään syytä olla näin pitkä; ensimmäinen osa oli loistava, sen jälkeen olikin sit 370 sivua pelkkää alamäkeä. Kirja oli aivan liian täyteen tungettu turhilla ja hämmentävillä juonenkäänteillä. Kieli oli myös musta aika toistuvaa ja yksipuolista. Mutta siis tästä kaikesta huolimatta oli tää kuitenkin ihan viihdyttävä kirja. Innoissani katson The Handmaidenin taas uudestaan.

I’m suffering. I am gutted. This is not a light jaunt of a read; the symbolism in this book deserves to be examined and studied. This is a dark, atmospheric Victorian literature that explores madness and sexuality. It is nuanced. It is uncomfortable. I can’t even gather my thoughts other than I loved it.
