Whatttttt why was this so good. The first 1/3 (which I read over the course of a few days) was like wow this is great, I love to see a queer Dickensian bildungsran, but like, 4 star great. And then I got to the end of Part One, gasped, and devoured the rest as quickly as possible.

Absolutely brilliant book , the structure is masterful in keeping you reading and waiting to see what happens next. The development of the 2 main characters is fantastic.
