Stayed up all nights reading it. It has the perfect tone and moods for the setting. One of those rare books you absolutely must finish.

Lots of riffs from dickens, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Great Expectations etc, with a female perspective. Gritty and felt real. Found it very suspenseful with lots of twists, some of which I did not see coming at all.

Loved the story but thought the book could have been shorter, there’s a lot of scenes that really seem to drag on

Watched the movie adaptation before reading, which spoiled some of the plot but didn't completely ruin it. Slowed down a lot in the middle, and the ending felt fast, but still worth the read/listen.
