Could have been much shorter and that would do the trick brilliantly... Good plot twists, tho!

i started reading this book fully expecting it to be pretty much the exact same as the korean movie adaptation which is not a bad thing because i loved the movie. but halfway through the book i realized how wrong i was! that was a pleasant surprise tho because ngl, this book was so agonizingly long despite the beautiful writing. not knowing what will happen next made me keep turning the pages and im happy to say that im glad i finished the book. the characters here are so much more nuanced. the plot twists were brilliant. and best of all, it's sapphic!

It's not often than I can't put a book down but Fingersmith falls into that category. Full of Victorian details, memorable characters, excellent plot and more than a few twists.
