My mom read this series as a kid in the 50s, and I read this as a kid in the 80s. I wanted to read it as an adult to see if it held up. It's so innocent- all full of "golly gee" and "shucks, Mom, I'm sorry". it's also full of adventures- with horseback rides, snake scares, and the main mystery involving a runaway and a possible hidden fortune. It just exists in a time of its own. It's worth the read for an outspoken, free thinking tomboy of a main character.

Super super cute, old fashioned "mystery." Join our readalong discussion at The Midnight Garden!

I loved Trixie Belden books when I was 12. She was less 'perfect' than Nancy Drew!
Sadly, I 'outgrew' them before I had read too many, so I've read way more Nancy Drew than Trixie Belden, and now you can't find poor Trixie anymore. :( Fond memories, though!

Loved these in jr high. Read this one again out of sentimentality. Maybe not as good as it was when I was a kid, but if I had a young daughter or granddaughter, I might buy a box set as a gift in hopes that she would become a reader.

I know I read this as a kid, but apart from a few scenes (the copperhead!), I didn't remember much of it. I like Trixie and her loving parents, and the mystery/secret, such as it is, is nice and not too scary.

The Trixie Belden series is the first series I ever read! I started them at around age 11.
I'm currently 44 years of age and this whole series is still in my library.
I attribute my love for reading to this series!

I LOVE this series. Thanks to my mom, I read this series when I was young. (It was her favorite series too.)
