Creepy af. And what even is her obsession with unraveling the mystery of her dead great grandmother when she herself is being haunted and claims she's going to be murdered?

Dark romance is not my thing and to know this book isn't even the real deal, I'm going to steer clear of this genre.

This book was heavily recommended to me!! Anyone I spoke to had great things to say. I don't feel the same.

At first, I was drawn in by the darker themes and Zade’s mission to dismantle trafficking rings, but the way his relationship with Adeline was written didn’t work for me. Their connection starts instantly, without substance or emotional buildup, and it felt more like forced obsession than anything earned. It was difficult to root for a romance when his behavior mirrored the very exploitation he was fighting against. I kept hoping I’d eventually connect to them, but by the end, it just never happened.
