Book 1 of The Moonstone Pack is an amazing read. The characters are great and the storyline is invigorating. Margo Bond Collins, please keep up the great work.

Really weird. Number 1, the first prologue (this book was free through kobo, I picked the first option I saw) gave me absolute whiplash. It ended up being the villains which I suppose made sense, but it was honestly still a really jarring opening. Talking abt How women were good for nothing but getting pregnant, and waiting for teenagers to be old enough it was very uncomfortable.
Second, they describe the FMC as being Rubenesque, which is about the women in Ruben's Paintings. Idk about anyone else, but for me They look like very much average sized women, they're hardly fat, yet through the entire book the villains call her fat, and her friend makes a fat joke. Not only the blatant fat phobia towards her (as well as directed towards herself) but also the random comments about food like a granola bar, and her focus on wanting to eat made it even weirder. Small comments like that that made me believe atleast that the author like that.
Anyhow third is the actual writing. I really hated the random First person cut ins. The book is majorly third person such as "Steele walked through the halls of his massive Lodge and he has a gigantic cock and he's a werewolf.
I love this place.
He stepped over to Beckey and sneered at her" obviously not a real quote but the first person character thoughts were at best disjointed/unnecessary and at worst completely confusing.
The romance itself took place over maybe 4 days, and it went from oh no my ex cheated on me with my bestie and there's this guy who helped me, he's nice to look at. To "I'm going to stay with you for the rest of my life"
Overall anyway I really hated this book, and if it was any longer i would've dnfd it. Luckily I find books like this to be quite funny so all wasn't lost, and I'm sad my free kobo book was wasted on it, but it's okay.
If you like this book I'm sure there was redeeming features, but for me, I absolutely hated it and think there's much better out there. It's okay

A solid 3.5 The main characters, Steele and Mila, complemented each other well. What I particularly liked was the different POVs, but I do wish the changing of a POV had been noted along with the chapter number so that I didn't have to read a paragraph or two to discover who it was. All-in-all, I found this a quick and enjoyable read.
