there's not a whole lot to say. i stand by my statement that i like scarlett a lot more than tella, but i definitely do enjoy reading about tella's life as well. the story was pretty interesting. though, i do feel like the ending between legend and tella felt rushed? like wdym he just randomly says he chooses her after legit rejecting her a gazillion times?? is that normal?? idk maybe it's just me. i still adore julian & his relationship with scarlett. and i absolutely adoreeeee the ending.
i still love once upon a broken heart more because it focuses on jacks's character and explains why he is how he is in the caraval trilogy + other things.
nothing else to say.
overall, this trilogy is a 3.5 ⭐ series for me.

Such a charming ending to the Caraval trilogy. Having loved the first book and found the second book to be more of a filler, I was surprised at how nicely the story addressed most of the loose ends and gave a satisfying dual perspective approach. I love how Scarlett’s relationships with Julian, Tella, and her mother were all developed over the trilogy and I really enjoyed the exploration of romantic, platonic, and familial love. The world building of magic and fates compared to the first book was also a nice set up for Once Upon a Broken Heart. Great trilogy!
