The storyline was very enjoyable but the execution at the end was a bit unorganized for my taste.

I loved the first part and couldn’t put it down. When narrators switched, I had difficulty enjoying the story probably because I didn’t enjoy the other narrator’s voice. It’s hard to criticize because being able to write so clearly as two different people is a skill not many authors have. Therefore, I would say that the other narrator is just my personal problem and not something to avoid the book for.

I was less than thrilled with the ending. Mainly because storylines were jumped forward and backwards with different characters and I felt it lacked organization because of this. Otherwise, I enjoyed this book.

Beautifully written and inspiring that Helen continously tries to do the right thing for all around her, especially her husband, despite his actions. Gilbert and Helen are both mistaken in the characters of the people around them and slowly learn to see them for what they are. This helps the pair see that the other is pure of heart.

I really liked the way the book was written in form of a letter from Gilbert to his friend and Helen's diary and letters to her brother.
