Standard entry for this genre - fast light read with romance. I appreciate and support that it centres a Punjabi community - we need more books with non-white love stories.
The sex scenes were problematical and disjointed. Deepak often felt like a completely different character. eg not checking in for consent to start sex with your “fake wife” who you’ve not ever shared a bed with (while sober) while she is sleeping is a red red flag. Eg Merely narrating that someone internally could welcome something like spanking does not pass the test for consent.
I don’t often comment but I had to regarding this esp as very few other reviewers raised this. I get we’re all moving towards a hyper spice space in romance - the communities that explore these dynamics IRL would council on consent for every sexual interaction.
