This was a really good first book in the series, already loving the characters and the premise, story is well paced and doesn't seem rushed and we manage to get all the information without being bombarded with it all in one go. Looking forward to reading book two.
MY REVIEW
Hmm.... I like the cover, I presume from reading the book, the gorgeous guy on the front is Kale! I will readily admit at the very beginning of the book I found this book a little hard to follow I didn't really know immediately, whose Point of view the book was from, who the main character was, was it going to be Brandt, Gilman or this girl whose name we had yet to find out? I persevered with the very beginning and it turned out the main character is a girl called Deznee - odd name I know, but it makes perfect sense later in the book where her name came from.
It is a rather involved complex story, well worth reading. The book revolves around Kale, Deznee and Denazen, the company that Deznee's father works for. Deznee thinks that Denazen is a law firm, but that is only the front for something much much more sinister and dangerous.
It's very action packed, with a confused love triangle thrown in too.
As you will see in the blurb from Goodreads, Denazen is literally "kidnapping" kids with special powers and then holding them captive and using them to deal out Denazen's own brand of punishments to whom they see fit. So what special power does Kale have? Well I don't do spoilers but as it says above in the blurb I can say Kales touch Kills any living thing he touches be it human or plant, animal etc etc.
Can Kale evade being re-captured? Can Kale, Deznee and some of her friends bring down Denazen or will they end up being swallowed up into the corporation themselves? And why is Deznee suddenly so desperate to bring down Denazen and help the "prisoners" escape?
There are plenty of twists and turns along the way. I won't say too much as that would give away spoilers. So what can I compare it to? I would say if you have read and liked Replication by Jill Williamson then you would also really enjoy this book too. this book is book one in the Denazen Series and what a great start to a series, it has me hooked!
So, did I enjoy it? Slower to start but then really enjoyed it! Would I recommend it? Yes.
Would I read more of the Denazen Series? Already reading Untouched.... I have to find out what happens next!

For this review I just have to start off by talking about Dez (the protagonist). She was brilliant. I really liked how flawed she was, how she always wanted to get on her father's last nerve and how realistic she was too. Dez did stupid things when she could have handled a situation a whole lot better. Instead of getting annoyed by this though, I enjoyed it. It added to her character and made her relatable in different ways.
Of course Kale was great too. He was such fun to read about at times - there was plenty of humour with him and a bucket load of cuteness with a capital C!
As for the plot I did like the story line. A company that had Kale working for him to the point of slavery and torture because he's a 'Six'. It was great to read and it meant for some cool action at points.
What I liked about it most though, was the Sixes. I just loved the whole idea of their secrecy and variety of gifts. I was really excited when it came to reading about a load of Sixes coming together - it was a great chance for the author's imagination to run wild.
Whilst the characters were really great, I did think that they could have been developed a bit more along with their powers (if they had any) just to give them a bit more depth.
I really do recommend this read! It was quick, fun (for the most part - it did have its serious moments) and an all-round good read. Personally, I'm looking forward to more from Jus!

I enjoyed this book a lot, it was a bit hard to get into, but then things were going!

I absolutely loved TOUCH. I was captivated from the very first page and did not want to stop until I had devoured every last word. It was full of action and adventure and I never knew what crazy twist was going to be revealed next. Deznee and Kale's slowly building relationship was so sweet and refreshing. I adored them separately and I LOVED them together. Kale's innocence in all the small things in their relationship made it the most adorable thing I had ever read! Deznee is a strong, independent, and smart-ass character, that I adored!

Ok, so this book really took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. It's probably because it has such great characters and plot. There's no point in me telling you anything about the plot since it's pretty clear in the book description. Dez is now one of my favorite heroines. She's funny, has a smart mouth that never shuts up, even when that could get her in trouble(probably because her middle name is TROUBLE) and one of her reasons to live is to piss off her father. She never back down and never gives up, no matter how bad things are. Reading from her POV was a blast, i laughed so much my face hurt. But that was partly because of Kale, too. OOOHHH Kale!!! Poor guy spent his entire life locked up and has no idea how to act around people or what it's like to love or touch someone, mostly because his touch kills most people, except for Dez. His questions and behavior around other people kept me laughing throughout the entire book.
Dez's Dad didn't really surprise me during the book, like other characters did. He's a cold, calculating SOB and he stayed that way until the end. Every time i read about him i pictured that guy from Heroes that has a daughter with superpowers, the only difference was that that guy at least loved his daughter and would have moved mountains to protect her, unlike Dez's Dad who couldn't care less. While reading the book i had my "OMG that son of a b!tch ,how could he do that" or "Damn that lady seemed to be cool but apparently she's just a stupid *beep*" moments and i kept screaming at my computer screen. There were other moments when i couldn't keep a goofy smile off my face for 20 minutes, especially after one particular scene. The writing is so good that i felt like i was the one experiencing the excitement, the happiness, the betrayal, the hurt. All in all, if you didn't get it by now, i'm in love with this book.

Excellent book. Fast paced and full of kids with cool X-men like powers. I'm crushing hard on Kale. Dislike Alex with a passion. What a jerk. Dez isn't your typical heroine. She's brave, sarcastic and mouthy. She's wasn't the least bit whiny and self absorbed. YA books usually irritate me with immature characters but I didn't get that feeling with this book. And FYI, that cover image of Kale is freaking gorgeous. I'm looking forward to reading the second book.
This was very action packed and suspenseful. More than I was expecting. From the very beginning I liked Kale. He was awkward in a funny and endearing way. I loved seeing Dez teach him all the new things about the world that he didnt know. But unfortunately Kale was also my biggest issue with this book. It is hard to believe that someone raised by Denazen could have turned out as nice and sweet as Kale. Or that someone as nice and sweet as Kale could ever have done the things Denazen made him do. I cannot find a way to reconcile the two sides of him. But he is adorable, regardless.
The story reminded me a lot of the TV show Heroes. At first I thought of [b:Shatter Me|10429045|Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)|Tahereh Mafi|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1310649047s/10429045.jpg|15333458] because his gift sounded the same, but its a little different. In Shatter Me, Juliette's gift was more like Rogue from X-Men. The longer she touched someone the more it hurt, the more likely they were gonna die, and the more power she got from them. But in Touch, Kale's touch is instantaneously deadly. Not only deadly, but they pretty much evaporate, or disintegrate, or something gross like that. Think Buffy. And Kale get's nothing from them when he does it.
This reminded me of Heroes because Dez's dad turns out to be running some company that has people with powers locked away in glass rooms and experimented on (not really a spoiler, its in the summary), and the ones that cooperate are sent on missions. Sounds so much like Claire's dad and 'The Company'! Although, in Heroes Claire's dad turned good because he loved her. But Dez's dad is totally evil, through and through, and he doesnt give a damn about Dez. There were lots of people with new and interesting powers in this, and a few of the old favourites.
But there was a little something missing. I think it didnt delve enough into the emotions of the characters, really make them real, besides the extensive information given on Dez and Kale's feelings for each other. But it was exciting and cute. I would definitely recommend this, and I will definitely be reading [b:Toxic|13097681|Toxic (Denazen, #2)|Jus Accardo|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1325487187s/13097681.jpg|18269887].

Favourite Quote: “In the short trip, Kale managed to piss off a pregnant women by calling her large and a Goth kid for inquiring about his makeup. If we hadn’t gotten off the bus when we did, there probably would have been a riot.”
I really, really liked this book. The characters were awesome starting with Deznee; she was funny, a bit crazy but a totally cool person who I’m sure if I met, we’d get on amazingly. She grows throughout the book and I loved her by the end of it. Then there’s Kale, oh Kale who couldn’t love him. He was just so innocent and pure and awesome and hot and heroic and EVERYTHING. These two characters is what makes this book amazing although in my opinion there was a bit of insta-love and I hated that so it did affect my enjoyment but overall all I liked the characters and their relationships with one another.
The plot was very fast paced and adventurous within the first 10 pages we’re thrown into a supernatural world. And it is a very interesting world similar to X-Men and all the other superhero action films. I felt the plot was a little too fast but I still enjoyed it. Some points in the plot were predictable to me anyways but there was enough twists and turns that it didn’t matter. The ending again doesn’t leave on a nail-biting cliffhanger but it still makes you want to the read the next book in the series. So I give these book 4 stars!!!!
