Touch Review on K-Books
I didn't really know what I expected when I started this book but if definitely wasn't that. Wow. I really enjoyed this book. I definitely didn't expect it to be so action-packed and I was pleasantly surprised with this book.
Dez has always believed her father was a lawyer, since her mother died giving birth to her, her and her father have never been close and she will do anything to piss him off. But then Dez meets Kale, the strange boy who seems to know nothing of the world and is confused and frightened but also fiercely protective. Suddenly Dez discovered that all is not how it seems and she is thrown into a fierce battle that is surfacing between her father's company and the Sixes; people with extraordinary powers who are being used as weapons. But Dez is not as she seems either, she is harbouring a deep secret, one she has fought to protect all her life.
I really enjoyed this book. It definitely wasn't what I expected but that, to me, is a very good thing. I definitely wasn't expecting some of the things that happened.
First off, Dez is one of my favourite heroine's. She is strong and won't take any crap from nobody. She's not afraid to speak her mind and if someone needs punching, well she's the one who'll do it. I love that you see her softer side while she is with Kale, and Kale sees a side of her not many people get to see.
I instantly fell head over heels for Kale. He is the sweetest guy ever. I don't think I have ever sat there and said awwwww so many times while reading one book, but I did with this one. Everytime Kale was speaking to Dez all I could do was go awwwww and yes I looked slightly weird sat there reading on my kindle saying awwww to it out-loud but I don't care. I just love Kale and I cannot wait to see how his and Dez's relationship grows in the next book.
The most surprising thing in this book for me was the ending. I definitely wasn't expecting it. All the way through the book Dez is set on one goal, I won't say what coz that would be a major spoiler and I hate spoilers in reviews, but I definitely wasn't expecting her to get it. I am a little confused as to what will happen in the next book as I definitely expected this to stretch throughout the series. I am really looking forward to the next book and I think this was a great start to a new series.

This book had just the right mix of action and romance. I love Dez and her snarky, tough girl attitude. I love Kale (of course, you KNEW that was coming) and his innocence. I can't wait to read more!
AH-MAY-ZEEE-ING!!! I want more!! :)

I was intrigued by the idea of this book. It reminds me a bit of the X-Men and that’s cool with me. I found out about this book one day by stalking Net Galley and it sounded interesting so I requested it and was delighted to be approved.
On to my thoughts about this debut novel: I have to say that it was one of my favorites this year. The plot is fast moving and action-packed. The characters were likeable, some are loveable and sometimes they even have that love-to-hate quality about them. I also loved that it didn’t leave me in one of those pull-out-my-hair-scream-‘til-I’m-deaf cliffhangers. Ms. Accardo ties things up nicely but still leaves you wanting more.
I really love the names that were chosen for the characters, too: Dez, Kale, Dax and Alex. Not only do they have brilliant names but these characters were full of awesomesauce.
Let’s start with Dez, she’s one kick-ass chick. She’s not afraid to do what she wants when she wants to, no matter that it drives her father crazy. I loved her for it. I like a little rebellion in my heroines and no one does it better than Dez. She totally stands up for what she believes is right.
Kale is super HAWT, super sweet, super amazing guy. The thing that I love about him so much is his innocence and his primal desire to protect Dez. I don’t want to say too much and spoil the book for you but believe me...he’s so worth the praise.
Alex and Dax were awesome supporting characters and I am looking forward to getting to know them better in the next couple of books. I hear that we’ll definitely be seeing more of Dax. YAY!!
There are also a few very nasty, very despicable villains that you’ll just love to hate. I’ve seen some wicked villains but the ones in this novel are as atrocious and evil as they come.
Here’s a little sample of the awesomeness that is TOUCH:
So don’t delay any longer, go buy TOUCH now. You can find it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble or ask for it at your local bookstore.

“He sat up straight, eyes wide, and touched the tip of his index finger to his cheek. "What was that?"
I blushed. "A kiss."
"That's what a kiss feels like?"
"Well, technically. There are a lot of different types of—"
"Show me."
"Show you what?"
"Show me some other kinds."
"You're asking me to kiss you?"

Touch was a good book. It started weirdly, very sudden and anti-climatic. We see our MC doing crazy stuff and drinking and then she meets the love-interest, which I liked how she commented he was hot but didn't instantly fall in love with him. What did bother me from that beginning was the fact that she was so given to help him when she didn't know him. It was weird and I have to admit she explained it with a "he looked so scared" but it's kind of not enough... you don't go around helping people that steal your shoes and try to kill you because they look scared! you run like hell the other way! But then Dez was never, you know, a normal girl, she would do anything to get a reaction out of her father...
I kind of had a hate/want-to-please relationship with him, just as Dez had! Which was scary of me to want to make the bad guy happy at the same time that I hated him. The thing is, the relationship Accardo created for them was scarily realistic. I loved that.
Kale was... well, he was damaged (this seems a requisite to be a MC's love interest these days) and he was like a new-born baby with the outside world since he'd been captive in Denazen (the place where Dez's dad works) all his life. And I liked his innocence in the first chapters... then it started to bother me, like, really? are you that slow to accomodate? Are you really going to want to kill every boy that looks at Dez because you *THINK* you're in love with her? And talking about Kale being in love, it was a poor explanation on his part saying he loved her because he felt more for her than what he felt for Alex, like, ALEX IS A BOY, UNLESS YOU'RE GAY, THEN YOU'LL ALWAYS LIKE GIRLS BETTER. And Dez just melted when he said that (and I yawned, I'm so tired of insta-love). Although Dez said "no, it's not love, I don't think I love you yet." the next chapter she was saying "I think I love you" when no more than 2 days had passed. OMG, really Dez? that's all it took?
I was dissapointed with that I wanted Dez to be more protective of him but in a more brotherly way and then discover she kind of loved him; him being all in love with her didn't bother me because he simply didn't know what love was. He admited he only knew white/black, good/bad kind of things so, he either hated you or loved you. So he would know what was in between but for Dez not to protest when he made the Alex comparision is just dumb.
I liked the betrayals, because they were unexpected and awesome and unthinkable until they were there in your face. So that was awesome.... The end was just MEH. I expected a bigger cliffhanger, I expected something crazy and then: THE END. but now, we see some crappy nail-trick and that's supposed to be the big thing we are going to wait forward to reading in the next book? MEH!
This book is GOOD, don't be fooled by my problems with it. Read it and get your own conclusions :)

This was a solid quick read. I was surprised with how much I liked the storyline and most of the characters. The reason it’s not 4 stars is because oh surprise everyone’s a Six in this town. And the ending was too much of a nice wrap up of everyone good is okay for now. Everyone bad is not good for now. And it all happened too fast. Nothing is making me need to go out and buy the next book.
Wow. This was really good. I mean, the cover looks like it's cheesy, but... this was out-of-this-world. I need to think about this before I write anything.
This book started out great. I thought in the first humdred pages this was gonna be a 5+ star book, but sadly in the end it wasn't. It was still great but there were some problems.
The first hundred pages were so fast-paced, I loved it. I loooved Kale and his loyalty. He was sweet and memorable. Deznee was also a great protagonist! I love a girl with some guts. No girl that cries when a nail breaks, it was refreshing! The characters were great.
The plot however got kinda boring at some point. And kind of confusing too. It is a lot of people double crossing each other or pretending to double cross others. And the fighting scene at the end lasted so long I just skipped parts.
So yeah, in the end it was not as great of a book as I thought but I still enjoyed this book a whole lot! I will definitely read the rest of the books in this series. I think they have great potential (and I need me some more Kale!!).
**Edit: 27 oktober.. I tried reading a new book today.. Nope! I couldn't do it. I was still thinking about this one and no other book could peak my interest. I have a bad book hangover, so I decided to raise this book from 4 to 5 stars! (Although I wish Goodreads could do the half stars thing, then I'd give it 4.5 stars.)**

This reminded me a bit of Xmen--a bunch of kids with different abilities being rounded up. I liked Deznee's sense of humor and it was interesting to see Kale experiencing the world after being imprisoned his whole life. I really like this and will definitely read the sequel.
This book was so close to being 5 stars not even sure why I didn't just give it 5. I really enjoyed it and loved the characters it was just missing something not sure what.
I feel like I might have a new author to follow.

I am in love with Kale and Dez! The characters are written perfectly. Seriously two of my favorites
