Veryyy slow-paced book but still very enjoyable! I liked the premise - a mystery novel about a writer who writes mystery novels. Nicky, the main character is very relatable and likable. I always enjoy books with a lot of family drama, so this one was perfect haha.

I liked the ending and the plot twist about Cole even tho I guessed it a bit earlier in the book. All in all I found the story very entertaining.

A perfectly fine mystery. I got the main twist but had actually dismissed it as maybe being a little too much but apparently not. The other small twists were very good though!

Does Nicky solve the mystery? I don’t know. I got to page 80, took a break to read a different book, then forced myself to get to page 100, and was ready for a different book again. The elements of a good thriller are all there but the pace is so slow I’m bored and uninterested.

It was a little long and a little slow in parts but I enjoyed the Sherlock/ Christie/ Hitchcock literary elements throughout the book as well as the “meta moments” where the author gave us insight into mystery writing by letting the characters in the book (who were author’s) give us insight into the plot….
