Just when I think this series can’t get any better, the next book comes out.
This is my favorite of the series so far! The minute I picked it up I was sucked in.
I did not want to put the book down and go to work.
Both Deimos and Dahlia have traumas from their past. Along with a history from a semester in College in which Deimos told Dahlia to run and to never look back.
Their story picks up when they see each other after 6 years. He and Dahlia both have their monsters.
Can they help each other get past these monsters? This was an intense, steamy, and suspenseful romance!
I am hooked if Jagger Cole writes it, I am reading it!!!

Just when I think the last book is my favourite, Jagger comes out and tops it again. Because wow. The way Jagger writes, I was completely sucked in right from the beginning. The level of suspense, the shared past, the intense chemistry between Deimos and Dahlia, it all built into this incredible journey that had me completely invested.

Deimos is unhinged, he’s as morally grey as they come and yet I was rooting for him the entire time because he’s living with so much darkness after going through hell and haunted by his past. He has been obsessed with Dahlia since they were in school together and he’s shocked when he see’s her again suddenly. His hatred, along with their shared history builds into an intense journey coming to a head when they discover they’re both living in the same darkness and Dahlia is in danger.

They share such a deep, intense connection and they discover the storm that’s constantly battling inside their heads becomes silent when they’re together. They were always meant to be and I loved the moment they realised.

The mirror house scene had me on edge!! The way Jagger built up the intense suspense in that twist was a masterpiece. He never fails to write a story that has you staying up all night because you just have to know what happens.

I’m sad this series has come to an end however I am excited to see what Jagger has in store next! Highly recommend this book and the entire series. Please check trigger warnings as this book in particular was darker.

An Exciting and Thrilling Installment

Note: this is book 6 in the series and can be read as a standalone, but it recommended to be read in order the series. Check trigger warnings before reading.

If you read Castle and Callie’s story (which if you haven’t, run and get it), you’d be super curious to know exactly what’s going on with Dahlia and Deimos.

This story came a little out of left wing, and I loved it! This installment of the series had similar elements sprinkled throughout from the previous books, but was still its own story.

This Dual POV follows Deimos and Dahlia and their surprising connection across two timelines, and their story is both tragic and hot.

Deimos is arguably more unhinged than Hades, in a different way, and his obsession with Dahlia results in a deliciously intense chase.

The characters have both experienced similar trauma (off-page) and find their safety in each other other’s arms.

This story contains tragedy, thrills, betrayal, trauma, a lot of spice, the classic “who hurt you” and a happily ever after that’s hard earned.

This was another hit for the author!!

- I’m sure that company for the internship is his
- hm. I know she said the diary wasn’t Deimos but I think it is. She was lied to I think
- maybe deimos has something to do with her moms company being bought
- I knew it.
- no one can say hello darling without thinking of Rhys, sorry
- I don’t like that he asked her to come and catch him fucking another woman but meh. I’m not too invested. Also I can excuse it since he actually does hate her lol.
- oh dang nvm. It was his brother ares. Not him. Ok good
- wait. Whiplash. They just had a huge fight and he told her to get out and this whole thing is done. Next chapter she’s still making chairs and taking her panties off for him? What?
- ok so clearly chase doctored a threesome video of him to make it look like dahlia was the girl. I get it now. Obviously dahlia has no idea about this
- I want to believe the step dad is actually good and there’s a reason for the divorce. Especially now that we know he’s been missing for two months
- damn. I was right about the diary and video and everything
- well. That was anticlimactic. I expected more after all their history was revealed. A let down
- is it Raquel?
- omg is it Victoria????
- great job not telling Deimos about the clues you figure don’t and leaving without charging your phone. Great work. Not like someone is after you or anything
- hm. Raphael seems problematic
- yup it’s him
- wonder if the new series will be about Dante

I have been in love with this series, but this one? Holy fuck. This is now my favorite. Deimos is scary, possessive, and oh so hot. He’s the quiet one in his family, the one they barely know anything about, he keeps it all to himself. Dahlia is his sister’s friend who’s life is crashing down all around her. The thing is… Diemos and Dahlia have a secret. They aren’t meeting for the first time in his Ya-Ya’s kitchen. No instead they have a very dark past. I devoured this book and I’m honestly sad it ended. It ended perfectly but I just wasn’t ready to let go!!

Ooooh boy this one was spicy!! As always I’m not going to tell you what this book is about (that’s what the back of the book is for) but I will tell you WHY you should read it.

The spice was off the hook. I loved (yes loved) the trigger warnings. Sorry not sorry.

I didn’t realize how much I was missing with a dark romance until now, sign me up for more.

Jagger Cole has written other books involving different mafia families and I am hooked on knowing how each of those has played out.

As for this particular book I loved following the Drakos family and their youngest most troubled soul, Deimos. I loved his connection to the dark side and most unspeakable kinks. I loved that two people with troubled pasts found themselves in a time that they needed eachother and they both were free to be their most authentic selves with eachother.

This book blew my mind. I’m so grateful I was chosen to be an ARC reader and I can’t wait to read for Jagger again.
