Another five star read from the Dark Hearts series!! Deimos and Dahlia were a DARK couple, both with dark pasts. I loved the story telling in this one, I felt so enveloped in the story I often forgot I was even reading. I love dark romance, and this delivered so well! The spice was amazingly done as well, we love a good dark and depraved man

I didn't enjoy the sudden time gap between one of the chapters. (after he kicked her out of his office)
The plot was predictable at first, then after 60% - a new plot line came into view. It was predictable too, but still I enjoyed reading the book.

that he set out to make her miserable only to realise she was his happiness!
Dehlia was such a strong FMC who took everythingshe dealt with in stride!
I wish we could of seen more of them in high school that would have been a dream, I honestly didn’t expect the plot twist either!

Dahlia’s best friend is Callie Drakos, Deimos’ sister.
Both Deimos and Dahlia have demons that they try to exorcize from themselves each time they are together. I have to say that when Deimos and Dahlia get together, they pretty much devour each other and that is pretty hawt! (not sure what that says about me because Deimos is really the antihero (the man you love to hate or hate to love). I wouldn’t want a man like Deimos in the real world, but it sure makes for a sexy fantasy.
As you can probably tell, I loved reading this book!
There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. It is the final book in this standalone within a series. I would say that it is kind of sad that I reached the end of the series but there is going to be another series starting in January 2024 by this author and I can’t wait. Oh, and there is big time TW’s so be sure to check that out before starting to read this book. 5 STARS

Glad we got to learn more about this elusive character, finally. The primal/chase spice in this book delivered 1000%. My heart ached when we finally got to see the layers of Deimos and Dahlia pulled back.
There’s something to be said about living through similar or same experiences and that level of understanding you can have with the other person. Nothing quite like it and that’s evident from how possessive Deimos is about Dahlia.
Deimos is the prime example of you can’t judge a book by its cover because once you learn about his past, you’ll probably just want to give him a big hug.
The plot was very engaging and kept me curious all the way to the end.
