This reads younger. Definitely suited better for a teenage crowd but it was a surprisingly good read.

Věděla jsem, že tahle knížka existuje, ale neměla jsem moc chuť si jí přečíst a teď vím, že jsem dělala chybu. Je opravdu skvělá a přesvědčuje mě, že mám stále pokračovat v tom, co mě baví.

Really good representation of anxiety and depression.

Jag fulgrät. Så fin bok

"You found me in a constellation."

This book reminded me a lot of Fangirl, but it was way better!!!

The cover was super cute so of course I had to pick it up in the bookstore, and then the book sounded cute too so I brought it home with me. And I loved it!

It was a fast read with text messages, emails, profiles and cool art slipped in every now and again. Seeing Eliza's art was added a nice touch, and now I want the author to actually write Monstrous Sea !!! Please? It would be super cool!

I loved the characters. Wallace Warland is the coolest name ever and his profile "rainmaker" is awesome too.

Eliza was easily relatable to me because I'm awkward and get really shy around new people. In middle school, I talked to more people online than I did on "real life." And she loves her art! She loves what she's created and she feels that it's part of her! She gets sucked in and it's all she wants to focus on. I feel like that every time I start writing a new book. Eliza and I could be friends lol.

Another thing that I loved about this book was that it balanced the romance and Eliza's comic and her sudden social life outside of a screen.

I didn't like the fast break up and get back together because I hate those parts in contemporaries. But don't let that stop you from reading it! It was mega cute and very quick and fun!

There are soooooo many things I could talk about with this book but I'm going to keep this review short because I'm tired and I want to go work on my book lol.

This is the cutest book ever. I absolutely adored it, I've been telling everyone about this book since I've read it.

There was a part of Eliza I really understood. How it feels to have something you care so deeply about and it be seen as a hobby by many and understood by few. That the art of creation is so unbelievably fulfilling and like a cathartic therapy. I highly recommend this to anyone with a creative bone in their body. In general it was very easy to empathise with her. Online friendships are rife in this day, even more so in the blogging world and often it isn't always understood, or treated with the same respect as, irl (for lack of a better word) frienships.

In general I thought that this book had a fantastic premise. I loved the overall plot and how the book itself was interspersed with panels from Eliza's webcomic. I'd love to read Monstrous Sea now, it sounds right up my alley! Every character, even those that got minimal page time felt fully formed and well rounded. None of them were perfect which is what I loved. I also really appreciated how each characters accepted those flaws and attempted to improve on them.

Eliza's parents were, I think, the perfect representation of what family life can be like in some cases. Especially, those with high achieving siblings. Not that I can relate to that being an only child an all. They tried to encourage Eliza but all it came off as was pushy yet they never really payed attention to what she loved.

I kind of already want to read this again...

This is now one of my favourite books ever. I can't stop thinking about it.

Now my face is all red after crying over the book. But I don’t care, it was worth it.
