I received an ARC copy of this book :)

I laughed, I cried, I laughed, I said "WHAT?!?" aloud a couple of times too. This book was really good! Seeing the characters develop more, and growing close to them as well.

Plot: 4.5/5 The story line progressed in a way that I wasn't able to guess what would happen next, there were twists and turns that just added to the story in a great way! I can't wait to see what happens next on the adventure!

Spice: 4.5/5 hot spicy peppers! And even a funny spice scene that had me chuckling!

Overall: 4.9/5 I really enjoyed this story! The only set back was the repetitive use of nicknames - that is totally a me thing as a reader, regardless, I totally recommend the read!!!!

There are not many books that make me physically cry. This....this was one of them. This book was marvelous. It was suspenseful, it was loving, it was joyous, and of course had incredible spice in it. The dual POV was brilliant. I couldn't read this fast enough, couldn't put it down. And of course it has so many romance tropes that we all love! Fated Mates, morally gray man, a kickbutt woman as the main character, and it has vampires and gods/goddesses.

Great sequel to the first book! I’m loving Damien and Cassie’s love story continuing! That end makes me beyond excited for book 3!!!!

Spoilerish

3.5 This book was hard for me to rate because there were moments in this book that I loved and that were 5 stars and then there were some that were 2 stars.

The plot was engaging at some points but then there were periods when it would be boring. There were so many scenes that could’ve been cut out. There were a few plot twists that I didn’t see coming and some truly heartbreaking scenes which I really liked.

After a big secret between Cas and Damien wasn’t revealed in book one I thought it would be revealed early-ish in this book but it drove me absolutely insane that we had to wait until towards the end. And there was no impact on the relationship from this secret being revealed which makes me think what was the point in dragging it out for so long. By the end there were more secrets being kept for stupid reasons.

I still love Cas and Damien together, they are very sweet and there is no angst between them. I was getting sick of the constant nicknames though.

I’m not sure if I will continue the series.

Wait you are telling me that
the fucking lady of darkness, evil queen, disguised herself as a 6 year old and then went to first grade-high school. Plus college. That's like Sauron pretending to go to element school.
That makes no sense. She could have been a loving aunt or met her in highschool. I mean literally anything . What kind of writing is that? And she's been kidnapped from forests how many times and she didn't bring a dagger? Or have her husband on speed dial?

So many mistakes.

There are a lot of typos in the first book , even in the revised version. then the events of the novella do not agree with what is said in book 2. She says her parents never met Barret....they literally did at solstice in 1.5 .  She said Lucia lived 1435-1885 and the next sentenced said "I lived over three hundred years." ....ya'll that's simple math and is over 400 years.

These things aren't the end of the world but they do bring you out of the book and make me question what else was written wrong. Just adds to an overall confusion and takes a way from the narrative.

I'll be honest i don't love this books , i think they are cheesy and Damien is so reserved, i keep being told of his adoration but I don't see it. He doesn't tell her anything. It's just weird.  I liked this book okay but pretty much nothing happened until the end.
