A quick read that's lots of fun. Enjoyed the horse of it all! Felt a little tiktok-y in how the mc's condition was handled, but appreciated that it was the author's real experience being reflected.
very fun premise, but definitely not what i would call a slow burn. hoping the author decides to write more in this setting, though! has the potential for some interesting nature-magic shenanigans.

This one is for the Barbie girlies and for the Eowyn x Faramir shippers!!
Think:
Barbie's character in The Three Musketeers but she's in The Magic of Pegasus, but Ken is the horse and he's the one under the Swan Lake curse.
This is probably one of the best books I've ever read yet. It's a perfectly written story, the writing is not cheesy or cliche. It's fun and engaging to follow. It has character. There was never a slow moment. I read one chapter before bed and the entire rest of the book the next day. It had me HOOKED.
Bianca's character, LOVE HER. Her struggle is layered and gets peeled back bit by bit by her opening her heart. I love the mask she wears when she knows she has to keep it together. The hesitancy to show weakness is relatable, and her desire to be a filial daughter is relatable. But I love that she is able to finally choose what she wants for herself. She is a fighter too and is the furthest thing from a damsel in distress...in fact, most of the time it was poor Aric being the damsel in distress. He is BABYGIRL. I think I finally found my book boyfriend. I'm trying to keep this spoiler free as much as possible. He's a little nerd that loves reading and discussing magical theory, he gets a little shy sometimes...its so!!!! Cute!!!!!! And when they finally confessed their feelings for each other it was such a tender moment.
Its a very much character driven story. I honestly can't think of any complaints 🤔 The cast of characters is small and everyone stands out. It's got 4 spicy scenes, 2 described in elegant detail (no crude language).
Speaking of the language, the world building is really immersive. The couple are each from different countries so they have their own language, customs, and magic systems. The difference in language and the attention to detail that when Bianca speaks Gilden (language of Gildenheim) she has a bit of an accent.
And now to address the elephant in the room (or should i say horse). Aric as a horse is highly amusing. There are an abundance of horse puns throughout the book which is obviously deliberate but it's used so naturally it only serves to act as the little cherry on top of everything.
Wil definitely be reading this again! P

I never was a horse girl but I think I get the appeal now
this was just a fun book with fun romance and fantasy and it did a good job of giving me a good time
there are little bits and pieces that I didn't care for mainly just because I'm not a fan of the jumping to conclusions/sort of miscommunication in the beginning between the two mc's
but I genuinely had a fun time reading it and would recommend if you're looking for something easy and lighthearted to read
