In this sequel to The Tomb Of The Mummy we return to Egypt with Gabe as he once again joins his uncle and cousin as an archaeological dig at a pyramid.

I love the idea of The Summoner, a small mummy hand than let's the owner control mummies, like in the first book so I expected something very similar with the storyline but I was actually quite surprised by the plot twist despite my suspicions. The plot was still a little repetitive but it was still a fun read though maybe not for anyone with a fear of spiders, that particular scene reminded of something out of Indiana Jones.

Gabe's cousin is somewhat annoying, I get that they're like 12/13 but this kid has no sympathy for her cousin and just keeps "pranking" him and making jokes at his expense even though she knows it upsets him. Pretty sure nowadays that would just be seen as bullying.

Overall it's a fun read and a decent sequel with some interesting mythology.

Rated: 2.5/5 Stars (rounded up to 3)

Obviously I can't stand mummies, they are so dumb. This book is also very dumb, but still, it is better than the first Curse of the Mummy Tomb. 2.0 stars, but I gave it 1 because I didn't like it at all.

I enjoyed this one and could basically see it unfolding in my mind like i was watching the TV episode - not sure if this one even has an episode actually. BUT in my mind it followed the same plot escalation as a Buffy episode with a powerful finale! Makes me wanna go see real pyramids, dangit!

Alright, this one was cheesy like I expected, but still better than the lawn gnomes book!

It's very easy to do a "Goosebumps minus bumps" review for this book because, surprise!, nothing supernatural happened for about 90% of this book! It was mostly the (extremely annoying) protagonist overreacting to everything that happened to him and not understanding reality.
Like the cops busting into the tomb and the protagonist crying that they had guns pointed at everyone, a chapter break later it turns out Scientist's partner has just returned with cops to make sure nobody else broke in and stole things.

But, Jesus, Main Character was so annoying this round. None of the Goosebumps protagonists are winners or particularly smart (what would be the fun of a novel if nobody's playing along with the scary stuff, I get that), but this guy was particularly stupid and annoying. I'm not kidding when I tell you he overreacted to everything and seemed to understand very little. So many chapter breaks were, "OMG, something terrifying happened! [Chapter start] Nope, never mind, I overreacted! The mummy isn't rising from the grave, they just opened the tomb."
