Mafia + Hockey + RH = SAY LESS... I think I may have found my new favorite C.R. Jane book (although, I don't know if anyone can truly take over Lincoln's spot...).

The red flags are back in this one... so if you don't like your men morally grey and looking like a matador, just don't read it because there is not a green flag in sight. BUT... I'm here for every second of it. *** Please do yourself and the authors a favor and look at content warnings before you read it if you aren't sure. Reading a book without looking at content warnings and then giving it a bad review because you don't like the red flags is just irresponsible reader behavior... don't be that reader. ***

To be fair, the only thing that bothered me was
that 5 year gap before she "discovered" the ice skating arena again... and that fact that it seemed a little unlikely she would have lived there for so long and had never been by it once in that 5 years, but it was close enough to her friends house to pass on a walk? I don't know... maybe if it was only a year later or something.
But it really wasn't enough to detract from my love of the characters and the overall story. I can't wait for the rest of the duet!

Final thoughts: If you read the prequel chapter at the end of the book and wonder why it's at the end... I do think I would have preferred that reading order. I read the prequel as a teaser from the FB group first, before the book was out. While it didn't take away from the story, I did go back and read it after and realized there were some things I had missed (connections) while reading the story because they didn't seem as important when I just read the prequel.

This book is a dark hockey romance. It is a mmmmf romance. The main character suffers from amnesia from being hit by a car. Five years later she runs into the three hockey players that immediately feel like home. Then another one she meets right side and he also feels like home. Then she figures out they are the link to figure out what happened to her. Then there is a crazy twist at the end like dammnnn. But book two comes out march 2024

I am not OK after finishing this book, in the best way

When I saw this book coming out, I was wondering how are they going to bring mafia and hockey together? And let me tell you May Dawson and C.R. Jane killed it. The story building is great. You’ve got three sexy hockey guys, Carter, Jack and Sebastian. You’ve got Grayson, the dangerous mafia guy, and last, but certainly not least is Kennedy who his whole story revolves around. This was so good the twist the turns the spice is exactly what you want from a dark mafia hockey romance. All I can say is, I don’t know if I’ll be able to survive until the next book comes out.

This is the first book on the Rich Demons of Hockey duet.

This is the fourth book by C R Jane I have read but the first by May Dawson. I was hooked from start to finish.

No Pucking Way is a hockey/mafia/second chance/why choose romance with suspenseful elements featuring FMC Kennedy and the MMC's Jack, Carter, Sebastian & Greyson.

We start with Kennedy in hospital waking up from a coma. She has amnesia, so has no memories of who she is. The only thing she has is a necklace with the name "Kennedy" on it.

We then jump to 5 years later. Kennedy spends her time wandering around trying to find somewhere or something that will jog her memories.

One day she is drawn to the hockey rink. She gets a job there and sees Jack, Carter and Sebastian. They seem familiar but even though they constantly watch her, they act as though they never knew her before and keep their distance, that is until she meets Greyson. Once they know Greyson is showing her attention they step in saying she needs to stay away from him.

It soon becomes apparent that all of the guys knew her before and they have their own history between them as they want nothing to do with Greyson.

When events start to happen that put Kennedy in danger they all vow to protect her. They admit to being with her before but won't tell her anything more about what happened to them or her.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, so I need the second book, Our Pucking Way, ASAP.

this was so silly, kooky, crazy and i ate it up.

kennedy emerges from a coma with no recollection of literally anything about herself or her life and doesn't regain any memories.. until she meets some men from her past who she still can't place but who bring up memories of something.

look, this bitch is dumb FOR REALLLLL. she pulls, but she's dumb. that being said, if i had a hot mafia man and three hockey players chasing after me, i too would be very dumb.

this was a wild ride, ending on a cliffy, but was a very fun, hot, fast-paced read. for my delulu girls only ok? for my 'i'm trying to suspend reality and have fun and the details don't matter that much as long as the guys are hot' girlies.

This book was… weird? Kennedy is probably the stupidest fmc I’ve ever read about and that’s saying something. Also I’m supposed to believe that a 23 year old is running the mafia in his city? No. And even though she gets to see all four of these guys she supposedly was with 5 years ago, I feel like I know nothing about them? How did I read a 300+ page book where I don’t feel a connection to any of them? Their relationship with Kennedy was very surface level and Kennedy made really dumb choices. You’re going to get on a private jet with a guy you’ve supposedly only known for a day to go to Paris?! Absolutely not.

Only giving 3 stars because I might read the next book when it comes out, but I’m not sure.

I’m sad because I usually LOVE CR Jane books, but this one just didn’t do it for me.
