This book was great! I love that the high stakes were constant throughout the entire novel. Overall, I give the series a 5 star just for the awesome concept.

A stunning finale, this book was everything I was hoping it would be. For one thing, we lose the backstory chapters (which were always my least favorite part of the middle books) and we focus on the final battle. As expected everyone comes together against Talon in this final book, but there are some definite bumps along the way. A new romance develops (I was hoping for this one) and we get plenty of closure for everyone we care about---well, at least for everyone who survives. I mean, you can't have an apocalyptic final battle without some loss, right? Of course, you'll have to read to find out who's still breathing in the end!

Does anyone else get super excited when they finish off a series? Or is that just me?

Well maybe it depends on if the series is good or something. Luckily for me, the Talon series was just that entertaining. Inferno is the fifth and last book of this wonderful series. Now even though it was the last one, I feel like not a lot happened in it. I mean, it had some battles.. but other than that - nothing else.

Other than that, Garret and Ember had some cute moments. Which I am a-okay with because I just needed her to pick someone throughout the entire damn series. Other than that, Dante was okay but after the last book he couldn't really redeem himself to me. Sorry, not sorry.

In the end, I'm glad that I finally got to finish this.

3.5 stars. I was a fan of this novel but I thought the ending could have used a little more oomf. The stakes are high and portrayed as such, but the execution of the struggles isn’t quite there.

I cried. And books that make my cry are always books/series’ I know I will keep in my heart.

I’m so satisfied with the series as a whole and the paths of Ember and Riley and Garret up to the end. This series hit me with such emotion and amazing characters and plot. I love how Ember and Garret ended up together, being the Romeo and Juliet of a Dragon v. Human world (though they thankfully didn’t die). In the beginning, I found Riley or Cobalt to be a nuisance, getting in the way of Ember and Garret, but I ended up loving him just as much as the two love birds. I really liked how he and Mist ended up together and I know they’ll be happy, which makes me happy. I’m really happy Tristan survived and that Ember and Garret may have forever together! Though Garret should’ve turned into a dragon.

I cried when Dante died. The way Ember wanted to continue on with him by her side made me weep and mourn for him. Of course he pissed me off because he was blind with pride of what Talon and the Elder Wyrm really were. It pains me as much as Ember that he didn’t survive to be alongside his sister again, but at least he had died helping his sister.

I am so satisfied with this series and I loved every single book. I loved the message this sends, saying that we shouldn’t hate or see those who are different than us as “bad” or “evil”, and we should get to know each other. We’ll end up realizing that they aren’t that different from us. I love the message, since it’s something that unfortunately still needs to be know to many people around the world. Overall, I loved the Talon Saga. May it always live on in my heart.

It was honestly a great joy to read these series again. Julie Kagawa started my journey in reading and I will always love to dive in her stories. Maybe I’m rating these series a bit too low and I might up my ratings to 3 stars, mostly because I know if I read these the second they came out I would have been giving them 5 stars right away. Julie Kagawa and her books will always have my support and I always find comfort in them. Because I’m pretty sure if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have even think about picking up a single novel.

Actual rating 3.5 stars. Definitely my least favorite book in the series.
