It was built up way too high, did not meet my expectations.
I liked though.

This amazing love story left me breathless. I should no longer be surprised by the genius of L.M. Halloran, because she writes so magically about the human condition and love that binds souls. Eden and Liam have a love that is tested by deceit, brutality, family, crime and ultimately each other. I devoured every word of this love story with my heart breaking over and over. I now have a huge book hangover, need a glass of wine and just want to jump into another Halloran story. I loved this book! I loved Eden and Liam! I highly recommend reading this book!

this is a first read for me by this author and I enjoyed it.
Eden and Liam are amazingly well written characters that really work together.
I loved all the turns this book delivered, such a great heavy/dark book!
I volunteered to read a copy of this book

Dark, Twisty, and Suspenseful!

This is the first of L.M. Halloran's books I've read so I didn't know what to expect. The characters were well written, had great chemistry, and I enjoyed the secrets, twists, and turns.

Not quiet what I expected, not where it concerns the link with Irish mob nor the bdsm.
It was well written with really intense moments, so I did want to know how this story ended. So that's a plus. But I can't shake the feeling that I lacked information, still want to know more about what happened in the past, then and in between with the present, more about the family bonds/conenctions.

ARC received from author for an honest review

Holy Shitballs Batman!

I new from the blurb that this was going to be a darker, heavier read, and it was just what I was after.

Liam and Eden's story is not all hearts and flowers. It is mobsters, it is secrets and lies, it is always looking over your shoulder.

Liam is not your every day knight in shining armour - more like the guy you don't know whether you should run from or to. As we learn more about him the more I liked him.

Eden is seeing more of the down and dirty side of life. Everyone seem shady. Who can she trust? Love, lies, greed all pack a punch in Double Vision.

Smart writing, intelligent, suspenseful plot, great characters, Double Vision is another great read from Ms Halloran.

Can't wait to see what she brings us next.

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
So holy sh!tballs was this book FAN-F-CKING-TASTIC. How on earth have I not read anything by this author before??!! I am seriously speechless right now. This is probably one of THE best books I have read in a long time. I frigging LOVED it

~HERO~
LIAM...good lord I don't even know where to begin with this guy. He was a complex character that is for sure. The author does a good job of keeping you guessing as to his motives. The secrets he is keeping. The lies. Is he to be trusted? Is he not? On top of all that he was sexy as f-ck. A smokin hot alpha Dom. I loved him. I hated him. I loved him again. He was an amazingly well developed anti-hero.

~HEROINE~
EDEN...Just as well written. Just as complex. Just an intriguing as her male counterpart. I loved Eden as well. This poor girls heart and life get ripped to shreds. I wanted to hug her. I wanted to tell her to wake the f-ck up. So many times during this book I didn't know which direction the author was going in regard to Eden's character. My fingernails are no more. But she pulled it off because I couldn't think of a more fitting ending for Eden. She was a fighter for sure.

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There was a really good array of secondary characters in this one. Some play larger roles than others. A lot of them intrigued me enough that I would love to read more about them. London and Dominic for example. I also loved Raul and Karina. Each one of them no matter how small or large a part they played added fantastic layers to the plot and keep the story moving.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. The sex scenes were suitably spicey and moderate in frequency. Most of them are BDSM based. The author warns in her Author's Note that there is dubious consent but "I" didn't really see anything that "I" would consider DC. But that was just my interpretations.

~ANGST LEVEL~
High. This is a pretty angsty read. It's a dark book with a lot of secrets. Push and pull. Lies. Heartache. That said, the angst never came from OW or OM drama. Neither were virgins and their sexual pasts weren't really discussed. Both
Spoilerhave sex with others during the six years they are separated.

~IN THE END~
I LOVED IT. Clearly. I don't think I could possibly fangirl harder (lol). It was just a fantastic read. Amazing writing. Amazing plot. Amazing characters. Hot sex. Tons of feels. Perfect ending. Yours truly is giving this one two HUGE thumbs up. And, I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for what this author has in store for us next.description

So here’s the thing about L.M. Halloran... ever since I read her book Breaking Giants, I just trust her as an author. That being said I went into Double Vision blind. I didn’t read the blurb. I didn’t read any other reviews. I just dove right in when I got my copy. Well it was worth it. This story was SUCH a fantastic read. This author ALWAYS pours her everything into her writing and you can absolutely tell. Not only is Double Vision a high stakes suspenseful rollercoaster, but there is also a deep love story that is truly unique to the two MC’s. There are characters you’re not sure whether or not to trust. So much deceit and lies take place throughout this story. The writing flows so well that I never wanted to stop reading. This book is pretty long, and I finished in a day. There are time jumps that feel a bit confusing when you’re reading, but will make perfect sense by the middle/end of the book.i

I personally think it’s best to go in blind, so I will give you some quick details and let you decide from there.

- mafia adjacent
- dom/sub, and I don’t really ENJOY that and I LOVED the way it’s done in this book
- secrets and lies
- blood and violence
- a few things that could be considered triggers

That pretty much sums it up from a vague standpoint. What I will say is that if you enjoy suspense focused mafia adjacent romance then Double Vision is a good read for you. It’s well written and will have you turning pages like they are on fire!
