I can’t tell if these books are kinda skinny on world building and cohesive magic rules or I’m too high while reading but they’re odd. Good fluff reading

This is such an engaging series, I've throughly enjoyed reading all three novels and am eagerly waiting book the next one.
In the Burning Page trouble finds junior librarian Irene and her assistant Kai from the get go. With the two still on probation from their mishaps in The Masked City Irene & Kai fulfill another "crappy job" for the Library when their way back mysteriously goes up in flames.
Helping Irene and Kai figure out this new mystery are the greatest dectective in alternative London Detective Vale, his police counterpoint Inspector Singh, the fae Lord Silver & Zayanna and dragon emissary Li Ming. Action packed with the return of the twisted, chaos tinged villain Alberich who tries his best to get Irene to go to the dark side. I like that book 3 focused more on the relationships formed in the previous novels making the characters more complex and interesting.
Highly recommended the series for those who liked the strong female charactures found in the Lunar Chronicles, those who enjoyed the time traveling in the St. Mary's chronicles or for readers who love libraries and the stories held within.

I consider this one the best of the three so far published, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed by the end, even if it does give me hope for the next book. Let's wait and see....
Per quanto questo mi sembri il migliore dei tre fin'ora pubblicati, devo ammettere che il finale mi ha deluso, anche se apre ai seguiti sia chiaro. Comunque staremo a vedere.....

While this was a very entertaining and enjoyable read the plotline was definitely weaker compared to the first 2 books. The pacing was very fast and didn't allow us to stay in one place long enough to get to know new characters and worlds. I wish we would've seen more of the dragons or the elves. The 2nd book gave us the chance to explore so much of this world, but the 3rd feels a bit like a regress in this regard. It's still worth reading though. We get more information about the dangers that grew in the background and spend a lot of time with characters we know and love (and love to hate?). So if you already read and loved the first 2 books you should definitely pick up this one. You'll have a good time.
What did enjoy were the insights into the library and the new Infos about Alberich. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of him.

I'm sorry but if Kai and Irene don't become a thing I'm going to riot.
