Once again Ms. Cogman delivers an excellent story. Irene is such a fun character to follow. She's thoughtful, but sure of herself, and while she's always considering what's right and wrong, she isn't a Mary Sue. She takes chances, and is both logical and imaginative. If you enjoy strong and highly intelligent female lead characters and a bit of old fashioned charm, you'll really enjoy this series. I will gladly follow Irene on any and all adventures.

Took a little bit to remember all the pertinent details from the first two books, but when I did this was fun. Not the strongest in the series and I felt like a lot was left hanging. I will read the next book when it comes out and hope it doesn't feel as incomplete as this. But overall a fun read and Susan Duerden does a good job (preferred her narration of the two previous books, but I think that was more content). Will continue reading.

The series is definitely getting into its stride in this book. I thought this was much smoother than #2, and easier to read quickly. Perhaps this is because so much about the universe has already been explained, and many of the characters are the same as the other books. Previous books had a lot of detail that would slow the story, while this one was much more focused on the action. Excellent!

A great series.

Continues to be an interesting & engaging series. I liked this one better than #2.

The Invisible Library series continues to be a fun read. Much like the Dresden Files, I feel like this series started off well and fun and is trying to find it's legs in books 2 and 3. As much as I enjoy the plotting and story, much of it is predictable and a little far-fetched in terms of believability.

While I understand it's fantasy and unbelievability seems a given, it isn't the world of Fae and Dragons, of order and chaos, of a Library with its own language of power that isn't believable. It's Irene CONSTANTLY getting herself into the dumbest situations and then having the men come in and rescue her from her stupidity. She is supposed to be vibrant, self sufficient, and the superior in her relationship with Kai. In the second consecutive book, she has gone off and done something against the judgment of her confidants and needed to be rescued by those same people. I would much rather see her succeed against all odds without the need of rescue. Or to LISTEN when someone says "maybe mortal danger isn't the best idea." In fact, the only time she DOES listen is when Singh says "don't go after her." And things work out for the best.

The constant trope of damsel in distress undermines all the work that Cogman does to set Irene up as the confident woman that she is supposed to be.

It may be the one thing stopping this book from being 5 stars.

DID NOT FINISH

Romance plot came out of nowhere with the "Sherlock" Character even though it wasn't ever developed in the first two books.

Another remarkable adventure. I love these books!

A good ending for the trilogy.
