this was such a beautiful story i wanna see the movie now. it was so informative and i learned a bunch of shit about black culture and religion. i loved it

I'm not sure how to explain how this book made me feel. 

It was awful, but it was beautiful too. 
It covers so many topics in a way that you don't feel heavy with information while reading, everything just comes and you feel sometimes sad and sometimes happy. 

The start of the book feels quite dark, but life slowly starts to shine for the characters. They never forget the darks things that happened in their past, they just learn to live with it, accept it and decide to move forward, towards whatever life has for them now.
