The writing feels more like a second draft and isn’t particularly polished, but the characters and concept are fun and kept me reading. On to book 2!
This book was definitely not a literary masterpiece or some sort of book that made me contemplate parts of my life, BUT it was so fun. It was cunning, sweet, and had a lot of intervene plot lines that still kept the reader in the know. I throughly enjoyed how fresh this book was; after reading a lot of emotionally heavy material or opposite, extremely light, this book was a good middle! I genuinely felt connected to the main character and her trying to form her own identity, deal with social interactions, and still be a girlboss baddie was truly remarkable!

I really like the vibe of this book. I like Jade as a character. I like that she was very badass at her job, and then being an anxious wreak in her downtime. It was quite endearing to see her trying to befriend her coworkers and neighbours. I also really liked Connor, and I am very excited for both of them to find out each other secret identities.

The story is absolutely entertaining, I greatly enjoyed the characters and I love the Magifort setting in all the books. I can’t wait to start the next one. Just how I love my books.
