Bobbie Faye Sumerall wakes up to a trailer full of water from an overflowing washing machine and a phone call from her brother saying he's been kidnapped. She is instructed to bring the ceremonial tiara she wears in the Lake Charles Contraband Festival as its queen in order for her to get her brother, Roy back unharmed. Bobbie can't figure out what is so special about a cheap tiara, but she goes to her safety deposit box to get it. What follows is a series of disasters starting with Bobbie Faye interrupting a bank robbery in which she loses the tiara and leads to a chase across the bayou with a man named Trevor who seems to be helping her.

Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day is a gem of a story featuring an engaging mystery, exciting adventures, and a little romance. Bobbie Faye is a catastrophe that never ends as evidenced by the opening pages of the book that include a map showing several of the locations where she has caused extreme chaos. There are many laugh out loud moments as Bobbie Faye and Trevor try to save Roy while other supporting characters add humor of their own. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter also point to Bobbie Faye as the culprit in many earlier disasters. More emotion would have added another layer to this narrative, but overall, Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day is an entertaining novel that leaves this reader wanting more. 4 1/2 stars

Chick-lit at its best, loads of fun as disasters and chaos follow Bobbie Faye. It made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

This was a non-brain stretching read. Which is exactly what I was looking for. Fluff, but with lots of explosions, varieties of the F word, and more than one hot law enforcement official: really how can you go wrong?

Reread, 1-8-13: Mostly because I didn't know it was republished as Charmed & Dangerous, and - thinking it was the next book in the series - I started it this morning. Oh well: didn't mind re-reading it, but now I've got to get my hands on the rest of the series, asap.

3.75/5 stars. Completely implausible, but fun. This would be a great beach/vacation read.

Not sure why, but this one felt like it took me a while to finish. The BF quotes at the front of each chapter made me smile. The idea that she's such a human disaster area was also funny. I'm not sure what was note quite catching me about this book, but it just wasn't there for me. I do own the next two, so I'll give those a shot at some point.

This was a very fun, easy read ala Janet Evanovich, but, dare I say, better than Evanovich!

I picked this up because it seemed like a funny read. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was set in an area that I'm kinda familar with, which made me read it quick instead of letting it sit on my TBR pile. Overall I liked the book, but I kept thinking to myself NOBODY can have THAT kind of bad luck, can they?!? There was definately chemistry between Bobbie and Trevor, but the author didn't fixate on that as much as the overall chaos surrounding Bobbie's life. I'm interested in reading the next book, just because I want to read more set in an area I like. Hopefully the plot will pick up and the pace will slow down to something less then Warp Factor 10.
