I so enjoyed 90% of this book.. The majority of this story is well done - suspenseful, in-depth characters, etc. But then I'm just unsure how I feel about this book..

at the end of the book, when you start finding out the answers, when Amy & Ian figure it out, and suddenly Amy has peace, it just all seems to fall together so quickly after so much drama. The epi really got me.. You hope (for all parties) that Carlos never wakes up/remembers James, because finally there is some rebuilding, and then that's exactly what happens!freckleduck's review against another edition

This book was interesting. I am not sure I want to read the next one to be honest. I found the characters to be slightly flat and I was disappointed in the use of derogatory language in an incident within.

The plot would have been great if it had not hit more than 3/4 of the way through the book. It would have been a great thriller if it had actually revolved around the plot and not around "exotic coffee blends" that sounded more like Starbucks secret menu items.

I really enjoyed this book, and all the twists and turns, even if they weren't all believable. It was an interesting story, and I loved Aimee and how she felt so real. I do have to say that the epilogue ruined it for me-I really wanted the story to end there. It looks like there may be a sequel to the story, but I don't know if I want to read it. I kind of wish I could just unread the epilogue and leave this as a stand alone story.

I mostly liked this book. There were some parts towards the end that started to seem a little unbelievable but overall I found the book to be well written and I was rooting for the characters.

I honestly did not really know what to expect from Kerry Lonsdale’s Everything We Keep. I downloaded it as one of the books on Prime reading, and I soon became happy that I had. This story is complex and interesting, with so many unexpected turns. Although I found some parts of this book to be slow, it often gave off a certain mysterious-ness that did not allow me to put it down. I also enjoyed the fact that this book combined different aspects of various genres to create the plot. For example, Everything We Keep combined romance and mystery which ultimately created a unique storyline. However, as I mentioned before, some parts are slow and a bit tedious as you are just trying to get to the “big reveal” in this book. Overall, I highly recommend giving Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale a read!

For me, this book started slowly, but perhaps this is because I'm used to reading YA where things tend to be a little more angsty and dramatic. It felt very true-to-life, and sometimes life and be a little unexciting. And when we meet the main character, she's grieving. However, the author doesn't wallow in that feeling too long and we see Aimee slowly start to rebuild her life, despite several devastating blows.
As the book progresses, the author doesn't drag out periods of time where the characters are waiting for something, but jumps from one thing to the next, one question to the answer. I really appreciated that.
By the middle of the book, I was invested in the characters and it kept getting more enjoyable until the end. For a book that I was almost ready to mark as DNF, I was smiling by the end. I am looking forward to reading the sequel.

Interesting premise, but the author seemed a little scattered. The storyline bounced around a lot, and I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be your average, every day novel; a mystery; a thriller; or something else. Either way, the ending was interesting enough that I'm going to attempt the next book in the series.

If I wasn't reading this on a plane, I don't know if I would have stuck with it, to be honest. The writing and pacing did improve dramatically in the second half, and by the end, this is a book with some soul and tenderness. Not super well crafted, though.
