Reading about someone who looks like me is always a plus. I’ve never been in a relationship, but I hope I can have something like Marcus and April.

I’m glad the sex wasn’t the first thing that happened in the book. I also liked the way they both dealt with their issues. It wasn’t April fixing Marcus or Marcus fixing April, but they both encouraged each other to figure out their issues. Well rounded over all!

I didn't finish this, I just gave up with this book. The writing style is so annoying to me and I just can't get through the story. Sad, because I was excited for this, but this isn't for me.

Very cute read. April is a great character and voice for body positivity. I was disappointed in Marcus that he couldn’t trust April with his “biggest secret”. She’d never given any indication he couldn’t trust her.

Popsugar reading challenge: a romance with a fat lead.

I LOVED this book! It was the first novel I think I’ve ever read with a fat heroine and it made me feel all the feels. I loved Marcus & April’s story and their banter - it felt so authentic and sweet. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This was hard for me to get into at first. The chats on the server were lost to me bc I didn’t know the lingo that was being used (acronyms and words) pertaining to the fan fic.

Once I got into the story I was truly invented in the characters and how they wove their real lives with their virtual ones.

I enjoyed the author’s writing about the April’s weight and how it impacted her daily life and her childhood. As someone who has struggled with her weight for basically her entire life, I feel Olivia Dade handled this perfectly. We learned how April felt when her mother spoke to her about being overweight and how to fix herself. I was most impressed with April’s confidence in her current life and body!

Ok story.
So much focus on body image of the heroine though. I liked the secret-identity aspect of the story. The two MC's became best friends online without knowing each other's identities IRL.

When Marcus (an incredibly gorgeous and famous actor) meets April (a sucessful geologist and a big girl with serious past issues from boyfriends and her own parents about her weight) he realises she is his online bestie 'Ulsie', but doesn't reveal his identity to her (because of repercussions if his online fan fiction stories become public he'll be sued by the showrunners of his current tv series).

They build a relationship but the reader is always waiting for the shoe to drop about Marcus' identity. Both MC's have problems in their relationships with their respective parents. I thought that was interesting and helped explain why they both acted as they did.

I loved Marcus' best friend Alex and also the chats between all the actors on the tv series.

This book contains multiple descriptive love scenes.
